Hilltop Sunset: A Brynn Bancroft Mystery
Hilltop Sunset: A Brynn Bancroft Mystery
Price: £1.34

4.0 out of 5 stars definitely keeps the reader enrapt from page 1, 8 Dec. 2014
A very enthralling and deep story based on actual events, one persons fear of being stalked by someone who had tried to kill them and her friends. This book will really make you think about how much you protect your family and friends from a danger that you cannot see or distinguish. Imagine feeling on edge and nervous not knowing when an attack could happen at any time. The authors writing will have you feeling all of the emotions as you feel that you are in the thick of the plot.

Just when our heroine thinks she has found a new love and the prospect of rebuilding her life she faces problems that she couldn't envisage, Surrounded by friends who share her past experiences and the FBI trying to trace her stalker the story builds to an exciting climax.

An exciting, page turning read about how one persons actions can have a massive and disturbing effect on a persons life and mind set. Excellently written, a very emotive story showing the good in everyone's nature even when they are faced with danger to their own lives. This definitely keeps the reader enrapt from page 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars I am hooked on the series already, 5 Dec. 2014
I am hooked on the series already and couldn't wait to read the third book, I think you could read this as a stand alone book but you would be missing out on so much of this history between the sheer love between Alex and Valeria and the near death adventures they have had to go through to get to this point in the story.

What we have all been waiting for, the wedding of the soul partners Alex and Valeria, so much deserved after waiting an eternity to be finally together. Their love is filled with so much genuine warmth it wraps itself around you as you read their story. Yet tragedy hits with a cruel blow and more of the past comes to light, they find themselves having to confront their fears if they have any chance in the future. With help of and old friend, the first oracle Myrdd, they must trust his valued wisdom and fate. But that is not as simple as it sounds as Myrdd was beheaded so they first have to recover him as well as the other immortals to gain the strength on their side they so desperately need,

With Myrdd's guidance will they be able to defeat the jealousy and revenge that is against them? Is Valeria immortal and will she be able to outlive the curse held on her unable to live past her 27th birthday?

If you love romance against all the odds mixed with lots of mythology, then you will absolutely love this series but be warned you may keep telling yourself to read just a little bit more as you get carried away with the adventures. It did have me flicking back now and then, still getting used to fantasy and mythology, as I didn't want to miss out on one single thing.

The author then leaves us with another side of the story right at the end of the book, teasing us for more of this fast paced series and I cannot wait, love, love, love it!! Book 4 has just been released, so excited to get back into it all over again!!

Ozeri Rev Digital Bathroom Scale with Electro-Mechanical Weight Dial (White)
Ozeri Rev Digital Bathroom Scale with Electro-Mechanical Weight Dial (White)
Offered by HOPE FIRE United States

5.0 out of 5 stars These are 100% gorgeous, extremely eye catching!, 27 Nov. 2014
These are 100% gorgeous, extremely eye catching! Having the tempered white glass base not only looks stunning but actually feels it too with the smooth edges. The chrome around the dial really highlights the shape and design well. The large easy to read dial weighs in both lbs and kg. As soon as the scales are touched / stepped on they instantly light up. I'm hoping that this love affair lasts as I am going to need all the incentives possible if I am going to start and keep to my resolutions this time.

Trouble in Paradise: 3 (Paradise Series)
Trouble in Paradise: 3 (Paradise Series)
by Deborah Brown
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.27

4.0 out of 5 stars a rip roaring read, 20 Nov. 2014
The third book in an excellent series, it's all kicking off in the Keys, Madison and buddies are knee deep in trouble and have iou's to the big hitters in the area. How much trouble one lady can land herself in as well as trying to help her friends is unbelievable. The whole team has to give everything if they are all to survive.

This novel is full of excitement, sexual tension and romances and superbly backed up with humorous quips. The characters have grown into a very moulded group and their traits shine through.

Another very easy but enthralling read and a lot more going on, odd jobs for the local don, problems of trying to evict troublesome residents and also solve the mystery of a man floating in the local waters.

The women will love the hunks with their dark sides and overprotective nature, with the female characters trying to prove they can live and survive without them, which adds a touch of feminism to the story. The fast cars, the gun tottering and dodgy characters embellished in a warm weather climate makes a rip roaring read.

Cache a Predator: A Geocaching Mystery
Cache a Predator: A Geocaching Mystery
by M. Weidenbenner
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.69

5.0 out of 5 stars Get ready for the story twists, unexpected moments, the holding of breath and the emotional grab of this brilliant thriller, 20 Nov. 2014
What a book!! This will bring out your deepest thoughts, stirring them up and making your heart burst. It will open your eyes to the dark world that many people suffer from whether it be alcohol / drug abuse, child abuse, mental illness and more. On top of which comes the most cutest, loveable little girl, Quinn and her loving father Brett, who will melt your heart.

There's a predator on the loose with one mission on his mind - to rid the local area of pedophiles, to keep the children in the area safe so they don't have to undergo the same torturous childhood that he had gone through. How does he do this and what body parts does he hide in the geocaching sites? You will have to read the book but be prepared for some 'coarse' words here and there, bringing out the true flavour of the mystery.

Officer Brett Reed, Quinn's father, along with his partner Clay try to track down the predator. Yet Brett has worse problems to deal with much closer to home. His addict of a wife sinks lower into despair whilst having custody of their only daughter Quinn. His daughter is found in the street on her own and is taken into protective care. You would think it would be a straight forward handing over to the father but no, it turns out to be the worst thing that could have happened.

The book shows how years of child cruelty can affect those in later life and how the suffering is passed on to their loved ones. Personally it made me really think about how unfair the legal system is, and in this case how ludicrous it is when dealing with the custody of children towards fathers, it also brings to light frightening potential flaws in trusted protective services that will make may your skin crawl.

Get ready for the story twists, unexpected moments, the holding of breath and the emotional grab of this brilliant thriller, you won't want to put this one down.

The coloring book forms a reminder to children and adults alike that they are loved and how happiness can surround them,

Simple words, quotes and drawings from Kanta's free flowing hand are carefully used to teach children, in a simple way, about their own feelings and that of others and also how they can find inner happiness.

As an adult, flicking through the pages made me smile at the trigger messages given out and I am looking forward to starting to coloring them in.

Welcome to the World!

5.0 out of 5 stars Be prepared to smile your way through this book., 15 Nov. 2014
This review is from: Welcome to the World! (Paperback)
I always thoroughly look forward to reading Kanta Bosniak's insightful words in her books. They speak to the heart and mind so clearly that I find that I could read them over and over again. You simply feel the understanding and positivity jump off the pages as you read them.

Talk about melting your heart, I wish I had this book through both of my pregnancies and while they were both small enough to plant seeds of thought. The idea of passing on positive thoughts and teaching to your unborn child fills your heart with warmth and happiness.

Kanta's soft and gentle tone with words are used carefully to reflect their true meaning to guide a child's spiritual journey into happiness to be carried on into adulthood. A lesson many adults have failed to do. The words are passed on to your child to nourish deeply and their inner thoughts may have a chance against life's obstacles.

I really like how the author uses the book to explain to the young about inside thoughts and those that we speak and how these can have an effect on people. I love the use of the happy buttons, a tool that people of all ages can do. There is also a good simple insight at a young age as to why others are sad.

A very easy and enjoyable read as a parent, parent to be or on your own. Be prepared to smile your way through this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kathleen Shoop hypnotises readers with her words bringing the story to life in such an encapturing way, 4 Nov. 2014

This review is from: After the Fog (Kindle Edition)
Kathleen Shoop hypnotises readers with her words bringing the story to life in such an encapturing way that it is so hard to put the book down.

In the mill town of Donora lives Rose and her dysfunctional family. Rose is a nurse who strives to ensure that her community is looked after, nursing is her life but with the worry that their funding is running out hanging over her head. After growing up in an orphanage Rose is adamant that her children will have the best that live can give, that is her mission, her focus in life. Although things don't go according to plan for Rose, her control to ensure they get away from Donora has become questioned and betrayed is how she now feels. What her family are not aware of is why Rose is the way she is, the deep hidden secrets and hurt she hides away.

The background of the family structure and the plight of the mill workers and families make you feel that you have become absorbed into the era and the story. She brings the characters into the hearts and minds of the reader, the nice ones and even the not so nice ones, Although I was caught out by the twist to the story.

People in Donora are proud of their industrial background, the mills are a way of life to them and they owe the mills for giving them jobs to be able to provide for their families. Living in the constant noise, smell, hardship and worry that their loved ones might be injured or worse at work is just the norm to them, let alone the never ending fog that surrounds the village.

I know the book was based around the real tragic events for the local Donora residents but even so you would still have been easily taken in by the story. The tragedy of the killing smog and the sad loss of lives and those who suffered illnesses was handled in a considerate way, it become clear that the author had put a lot of care and research into the story and I feel has done the Donora people proud.

Following on from such a traumatic event, is hard for everyone, especially Rose and my heart did go out to her. There were a lot of similarities between myself and Rose, especially a current one with my son and his education which made me smile as I had the same realisation as Rose did in the end.

A nice ending to a realistic and gritty tale and I am one seriously hooked fan and that's just after reading two of her books, I cannot wait to read the next, in fact I need it right now!!

Deception in Paradise (Paradise Florida Keys Mystery Series Book 2)
Deception in Paradise (Paradise Florida Keys Mystery Series Book 2)
Price: £2.24

5.0 out of 5 stars keeps the reader engrossed with the excellent red herrings she throws in., 3 Nov. 2014
The second installment of Madison Westin adventures in Florida Keys. Just when she is trying to rebuild her life, her past catches up with her when her ex husband turns up demanding his share of Madison inheritance. While staying there he organises a party and one of the guests ends up dead leading Madison and her fiends into a murder mystery investigation and personal conflict with her new love.

The story is a real page turner with twists and turns, easy to follow and keeps the reader engrossed with the excellent red herrings she throws in.

Even though this is the second book in the series it can be read without reading the first one a totally separate issue and self contained narrative.

The author has created the beginnings of an excellent series who could challenge M C Beaton and the Agatha Raisin series. Praise for a new innovative character who finds herself in a lot of pickles and has to bend / stoop below the law in order to survive.

An excellent novel which not only covers the intrigue and investigation side of the mystery but really touches on the human nature and emotions which add spice to the story.

Novel number three is waiting and really looking forward to it.

Crazy in Paradise
Crazy in Paradise
by Deborah Brown
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.69

5.0 out of 5 stars a totally enthralling read, 30 Oct. 2014
This review is from: Crazy in Paradise (Paperback)
As our heroine deals with something that is close to everyone's heart, the death of a close relative and the problems around receiving the inheritance this also brings along change and with change new people and problems crop up. As she moves into her aunts property and meets her new love the story really begins?

I really liked the dirty tricks and dodgy dealings of the lawyer and how he tries to try and hide his real motives which is apparent in everyday life as well as the people he uses and employs to maintain his lifestyle. The author did a great job at describing the characters bringing them to life throughout the story, I could easily imagine how they would be acting and even reminded me of a couple of people I know.

This is the first book in a series, I cannot wait to read the next one, a totally enthralling read.

An excellent debut novel which I really enjoyed, easy to read and follow, full of emotion and personal conflict which builds to an excellent crescendo with an nail biting twist, a must read for all chick lit fans.
