Classic Japan, 2 July 2007
I must say this is there tour de force as far as I am concerned , less bombastic than Adolescent Sex, more smooth than Obscure Alternatives and just about better than Gentlemen Take Poloroids and Tin Drum. Every Track is a winner as other above albums have highs and several lows. Sylvians voice is on top form here between the screech and the drone,Its a a shame they couldn`t add on I Second That Emotion instead of 3 versions of the sublime All Tomorrows Parties and 2 versions of Quiet Life. Cest La vie.

Here we go again, 16 Jun 2007
Yet another Bowie compilation just when you thought it would be save to go back in the water due to Bowies health , so instead of a new album we get retread after retread. There now is 4 of these collections about not counting re-realises and anniversery issues of classic albums . I bought this as I have been a Bowie fan for over 30 years and there were 3 videos that I never had , but why couldn`t they put this on the Best of Bowie? The music is Very good as usual although not his best apart from the Scary Monsters stuff and his voice on The Drowning Girl is absolutely brilliant. As another reviewer mentioned how about Space Oddity 1980, and how about the Dunstable version of the Santa Monica video clip Ziggy Stardust ? Lets have something original stuff for a change like some clips from Saturday Night Live, Kenny Everett,TOTP etc.

Excellent Horror ., 2 Jun 2007
I must say that there are some poor reviews about this film, however it is excellently acted under the controlled guidance of the late Michael Reeves. The acting of Vincent Price in this film is very underhand as Michael Reeves wanted an understated performance from the King of horror and this works too. The only grumble with the film is the unrestored missing parts originally taken out for reserved British Audiences, these are poor prints. But overall this is an excellent film.

Brilliant Classic Comedy, 14 Feb 2007
Havn`t got his on DVD yet as its not yet released, but going by my old VHS videos this is the best Steptoe series. Why can`t writers write comedies like this now. Best episodes are on this DVD , Divded We Stand,Oh What A Beautiful Mourning, and The Desperate Hours starring the late great Leonard Rossiter. Just love it when in the episode divided we stand when the house is split in two and the tele is also split in two and Albert pulls the tele in to see more screen, Harold pipes up " Ive got the law of contract on my side " and the old man replies " But I have the knobs on my side .Fantastic stuff

ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY ISSUE, 22 May 2004
I GET A BIT SCEPTICAL WHEN THESE ANNIVERSARY ISSUES COME OUT , FOR EXAMPLE ON THE ZIGGY STARDUST CD ALL THE TRACKS WERE PREVIOUSLY RELEASED BAR 20 SECONDS OF TALKING ON SWEET HEAD. THIS UNFORTUNATELY FOLLOWS THIS TREND AND NOT ALADDIN SANE,WHICH WAS A BIT DIFFERENT WITH PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED TRACKS. ON THE FIRST SIDE WE HAVE ALL THE 1974 ALBUM AND ON SIDE 2 WE HAVE A MISH MASH OF PREVIOUSLY RELEASED TRACKS, DODO 1/1984, CANDIDATE ETC ALL RELEASED ON THE 1990S REISSUE AND SOUND AND VISION BOX SETS. I SUPPOSE I WILL AGAIN FOLK OUT ON THIS CD JUST FOR THE COLLECTION, BUT I AM BITTERLY DIISAPOINTED 5 STARS FOR ORIGINAL CD 2 FOR THE EXTRAS ,SO 3 STARS

poor ,very poor, 8 Mar 2004
This album is trading on the great Bowie name and hoping record buyers will buy this thinking Bowie is on the record, but no ,only Mick ( woody ) Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder feature with Mike Garson on keys and they probably hold it together. There are terrible tracks such as I don`t waana do no limbo and Black man, White man . The only decent track is Prisoner . Do not buy this record under any circumstaces.

a let down after heathen, 7 Oct 2003
I was hoping for a lot better than this after Heathen. This starts off good with New Killer Star,Pablo Picasso and then follows a very ordinary Never Get Old with some bad back up vocals. The Loneliest Guy is next up which shows that Bowies vocals are now shot and weak, the other tracks that follow are no better apart from Fall Dog Bombs the Moon and the title track which is the best thing on this CD.CD 2 is O.K but is really filler material, the worst Visconti production ever and the worst Bowie album since Tonight.

ZANE ZANE ZANE OUVRE LE CHIEN, 13 Sep 2003
This is Bowies first great album and sets a standard for successive releases . The stand out tracks are Width of a Circle, All the Madmen,Black Country Rock, Saviour Machine and She Shook me Cold with Ronno sounding like Cream /Hendrix. The remaining tracks knock his eighties stuff into a cocked hat. A fantastic buy and one of his best albums.
