A Must for Burmese Students, 23 Feb 2003
This book is definitely THE most useful reference book I have come across while studying Burmese language and in particular when translating Burmese into English. Burmese language is characterized by its high number of small grammar particles, which often cannot be found in Burmese/English dictionaries and yet which are crucial to understanding the sentence or its nuances. Not only does this book provide definitions for almost all of these grammar particles but is also provides examples taken from both classical/literary sources as well as from contemporary and spoken style sources.
