4.0 out of 5 stars Random, blood and kinda perverted., 19 Sep 2011
Dokuro Chan is a very bloody and very funny series, with some perverted elements.

Basically Dokuro Chan is an Angel, who lives with Sakura, some random stuff happens be it at home, or school or anywhere really and he ends up being killed by Excalibolg(Dokuros spiked club) in many different ways, she essentially smashes his face in with blood going everywhere, and then revives him with her little song and he appears again with full health, slightly more freaked out.

This is more a comedy series, as she can't stop killing the poor guy lol

Contains clevage, no nudity, blood and more blood.

English/Japanese audio.

Sadly this game closed down a little while ago, probably due to low subscriber numbers, either way there isnt any point in buying this game because you won't be able to use the product online.

The offline mode is weak at best, the story mode is mediocre, the whole point of this game was to play online with friends. That point is now gone and thus this product is worthless.

Bamboo Blade - Series 1 Part 2 [DVD]
Bamboo Blade - Series 1 Part 2 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Chris Burnett

4.0 out of 5 stars Bamboo Blade, 19 Sep 2011
Bamboo Blade, an anime that you won't typically find remarkable but at the same time you will enjoy every moment when watching, it may not rank as anime of the year but one thing it has above virtually all anime out there in recent years, is that it's simply suitable for any age, there's no fanservice, swearing or anything remotely wrong in this show.

The story is based around Kendo, a teacher with little to no prospects in life finds himself in charge of the schools Kendo team and tasked with recruiting a team of 5 girls to go up against his best friend, and also rivals Kendo team from another school.

Initially focusing on the recruitment of the characters and the building of a team, Bamboo Blade introduces some fairly ordinary characters into the mix, certainly not the kind of people you would expect to play Kendo.

Tama is a Kendo goddess, showing all the remarkable reflex's and skill to become a Kendo champion, when she is introduced to the story she in my eyes becomes the main character of the show. Tama loves anime, she initially doesn't want to get involved with the team as she is a shy, yet quiet girl.

This in my eyes is where Bamboo Blade excels. Although a lot of the focus is on Tama, the story switches between the characters such as Kirino, and the other girls in the team, and goes a little into their personalitys, background and generally tries to get you the viewer to accept them.

Now with this being said, a lot of the story is based around the high school, and the team training for matches, finals, tournaments. Whilst this is going on it delves into Tamas character.

Bamboo Blade has a lot to offer for anyone looking for a more laid back anime. It has a lot of emphasis on character interaction, slice of life elements, and the basic love hate characters that pop up during the story.

I like the series. The dub is alright too, animation is good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull, Unfinished, Unlikable, Pointless, and just plain Bad, 19 Sep 2011
Basically characters join an event where they fight each other, and when they lose they get taken away, never to be seen again, well until the final episode.

The show was obviously made to be longer, probably 12-24 episodes in length and starts off fairly well, but doesn't really explain anything and comes accross as rather disjointed.

Its the kind of show that advertises fanservice and there is some, it has the Ikkitousen clothes get shreded when you get hit effect, like the creators ripped off that idea from Ikkitousen, however even this can't save a terribly dull show.

It quite simply is boring, and really, really badly done, normally in a story you're meant to care about characters, or like them, but in this, there is simply nothing, nothing at all to like.

The ending is deus ex machina and makes little to no sense, and a certain event happens and the show just ends, no explainations, nothing, you get this vibe that the budget ran out, or that they were trying to be deep, but failing so ridiculusly bad its not even funny.

The dub is average at best, hardly worth buying the show for either.

Tower Of Druaga - The Complete Series [DVD]
Tower Of Druaga - The Complete Series [DVD]

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very good, likable Fantasy anime series, 19 Sep 2011
Boxset contains: Tower of Druaga Aegis/Sword of Uruk.
Number of Episodes: 25
Audio on Discs: English and Japanese

Basically the Tower of Druaga is a tower inhabited by monsters, but also vast treasures(Or so they say), and is the location in which the climbers of the world head out too and climb.

Jil is the main character in this series, he starts off with his brother and friends on a mission inside the tower but becomes a nuisance/annoyance to the group and thus is left at Meskia and so his journey begins. After the show introduces some of the other characters like Kaia/Ahmey etc Jil enters the Tower and decides to live out his dream of reaching the top and defeating the evil god druaga.

This is a very fun fantasy series, with lots of fun moments as the group make their way up the tower getting into random situations, the first half of the series is quite light hearted with its comedy moments but turns more dark towards the end of the first half.

Without spoiling, this is two anime shows in 1 boxset. the first is Jil and his groups journeys to the top of the tower to face Druaga, the second series is the aftermath of the events of the first series, and introduces a heck of a lot of new plotlines to conclude the show.

The show does get VERY serious, especially in the second half and is not suitable for young children. Its good for teenagers/adults or anyone looking for a fun night in, infront of the tv.

I love this show.

High School of the Dead [Blu-ray]
High School of the Dead [Blu-ray]

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lazy Persons Review, Non Spoilerific and Can be read quickly, 19 Sep 2011
Basically Highschool of the dead is series that is very well animated, looks amazing in HD, has a rather excellent dub and a gripping story.

If you're a fan of zombies and emotional drama and fanservice this show mixes them together perfectly, the story basically starts off at a school where a teacher gets bitten and turned into a zombie, and then goes on to bite others until the school is swarmed with Zombies, several characters survive and form a group that through seemingly impossible situations, just wants to survive and find their loved ones.

There is a lot of fanservice in this show, but its good, and well animated, and refreshing even, the English audio is good, has a fair amount of swear words, and cultural references, by this I mean they added random lines like a reference to Palin in a certain scene.

Buy this awesome series now if you're a zombie fan, a fanservice fan, and a fan of action, and someone who is wondering what all 3 mixed together would look like.

I hope you enjoyed my non spoilerific review, that if you're lazy like me, and wondering if the show is worth buying, should answer your questions.

Hack // Legend Of The Twilight - Vol. 1 [DVD]
Hack // Legend Of The Twilight - Vol. 1 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Kôichi Mashimo

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the World., 19 Sep 2011
This is a fantasy anime based around the .hack// series, about a game called The World.

Shugo and Rena win a character competition and inherit the Player character models of Kite and Blackrose the 2 legendary dothackers from the PS2 games, they both live apart from one another in the real world, and Rena encourages her brother to join the world, which he does, and this in turn becomes their way of talking to each other.

The anime has a light hearted feel in this volume and is more a fantasy series with swords, magic, monsters etc, nothing too graphic and is kinda fun.

This volume introduces the various personalitys in the world, including an offline friend of Shugos, and various characters from the games.

Now you honestly dont need to play the games to enjoy this series, its a plus but not a requirement.

It contains English/Japanese audio + Subtitles.

Very fun, and for ages 12+
