4.0 out of 5 stars Colour different to description and photo but a great top and supplied very quickly, 28 Aug. 2015

Colour not quite as expected from the photo as despite being described as Navy, it looks looks lilac in the photo online whereas the top is in fact blue. But I like these tops and have a number in different colours so I will keep it as it will go great with jeans

1.0 out of 5 stars Bill Bryson this isn't - a book to avoid, 20 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Being a seasoned traveller to the States and a fan of Bill Bryson's books, I was looking forward to reading Andrew Thompson's book about travelling across America using the Greyhound bus but I found this book not only disappointing but exceedingly annoying. I only read through to the end in the hope that it would get better but it didn't. Whilst Bill Bryson is a talented, clever and witty sort of fella who, whilst often taking a poke at his fellow countrymen, does so in good jest, Andrew Thompson is not talented, not clever and far from witty. For the majority of the book Andrew is a rude, arrogant and very judgemental person who I sincerely hope I never have the misfortune to meet. His girlfriend Lucy who obviously thinks she is gorgeous and spends her life thinking all men are trying to bed her is not much better. All through the book, every American they meet is described as being fat, stupid, ugly, black, dirty or lazy. Andrew does nothing but criticise the American people and their way of life from what they drive, how they dress and what he seems to think they eat. I have news for you Andrew - if you treat people with such contempt through life, don't expect kindness in return, if you are hungry and only look for cheap burger joints that's all you will find and the most important advice of all for Andrew and Lucy is - being ugly comes from within.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like Leigh Russell's style of writing and I have now ..., 30 Jun. 2014

The second book in the Geraldine Steel series is yet another page turner. Unlike the first book where the reader knows the killer, here the reader is sort of kept in suspense as the plots intertwine. We also get to learn a bit more about Geraldine, but some info has been held back for a reveal in a later book which is very clever of the author. I like Leigh Russell's style of writing and I have now purchased Book 3.

I was hooked from the start and have already started reading the next Geraldine Steel book. Although the perpetrator of the crimes is revealed at the start, this does not spoil the book. Definitely recommended

2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointed, 8 Jun. 2014

This review is from: Afterwards (Kindle Edition)
Having read Sister and loved it, I was keen to read this book by Rosamund Lupton and whilst it started out good, I must admit I sort of lost the plot once the storyline moved to the hospital. I found the dialogue confusing as to who was commenting on what and I hate to say it but I gave up on it about half way through. I realise if I had finished the book, it might have come together and ended up OK as the book has many many good reviews, but sorry it just wasn't for me.

Took a chance on this book as I had not heard of the author but the book had received good reviews. I agree its a real page turner. Right from the beginning the book has you gripped and there are many twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. I took it on holiday and every spare minute I had, my kindle was out and I read a few more chapters. Definitely recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ooops review based on film but itching to read the book, 6 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sorry to all book fans but, I have based my review on the film. It was excellent and I immediatley went home and ordered this book (delivered in less that 5 minutes thanks to the wonder of the kindle). However, I plan to read the book on holiday so am saving it despite this being hard as I just want to read it and relive the film. I'm hoping its as good
