5.0 out of 5 stars Classic, 4 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered the iPod Classic from Amazon and received it within 3 days (after cancelling my order for the same product for hmv.com because they were messing me about and couldn't get it!!...rant over, I'll carry on with the review).

I can't fault the product, memory is huge, am still in the process of transferring all of my CDs onto the ipod. be aware that you only get around 148GB of useable space due to the formatting etc. on the device, but that is still a huge capacity. I think these are much better value for money in terms of memory than the iPod Touch.

I have had no problems with the volume; goes more than loud enough for me, with great sound quality. I have loaded one short video onto the ipod and it plays very clearly with great picture and sound quality.

iTunes is really easy to use (even if it is often cheaper to buy an album on CD rather than download it!), but it has a great range of features, allowing you to rip your CD's, add album artwork, lyrics, videos, movies, contacts etc.

Ipod also comes with 3 games; a quiz game (including a quiz based on the music you have put on your ipod), Klondike and another game involving bounicing a ball. All are quite entertaining, and I assume you can download additional games from iTunes if you want.

Also comes with an adaptor for a docking station. Whilst this didn't fit in my docking station, I had some adaptors that came with the docking station and the ipod fits in that one perfectly, allowing me to play music out loud as well as through headphones.

Can't fault this product-if you need memory get the iPod Classic. If you want a touch screen and ability to browse the web etc, you'd be better off with the iPod touch, but at the cost of much smaller memory!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Time Flies..., 12 Jun. 2010

This box set possibly posseses the best collection of songs released together for a very long time! Every track is a winner. On top of this, every music video is included on a DVD, all with commentary by Noel or Liam Gallagher (depending on who wrote the song). Also included are a few live videos and US videos, as well as videos for the B-sides Acquiesce (probably spelt wrong!) and The Masterplan.

On top of this is a CD of the last ever recorded Oasis concert. The presentation is brilliant, the 4 discs come in cardboard sleeves, contained within a sturdy box. The booklet contains exerpts from the music video commentaries with Noel or Liam for all songs, as well as fans thoughts and stories.

A must for any Oasis fan, and if you're yet to discover Oasis this is definately the place to start!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick fix to an annoying problem, 9 Jun. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After the connection between my laptop and printer kept failing until the point where the laptop couldn't even pick up the printer I wondered if there was something wrong with the printer. Saw this cheap cable and thought I'd give it a go, glad I did as it has enabled me to print again!

great value for money, a faultless product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Album, Good Price, 22 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I brought this CD after hearing Fyfe's cover of Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman" on the John Lewis TV advert.

Glad I brought it, especially at this very low price for a new chart album!! Each song is good, more acoustic numbers, but also a few more rockier numbers as well. The original album only had 10 tracks, this has 4 new bonus tracks (including "She's Always A Woman"). While this is the same price as the original 10 track album it'd be daft not to get this version!!

Highly recommended, an uplifting and enjoyable listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but short, 17 April 2010
This review is from: Wake Up The Nation (Audio CD)
This is a good album, and it grows on you with each listen. I've not heard any of his other albums completely so can't really conpare it, but maybe saying its the best of his career is a little too far?

I would recommend it, but the two main problems I have with this LP are that most of the songs are quite short (around the 2 minute-2.5 minute mark) and the vocals aren't loud enough, making it difficult to hear what words he is singing in some places.

Trees, No tears to Cry and Wake up the nation are my highlights, but there isn't a bad song on here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant psychadelia, 17 April 2010
This review is from: Congratulations (Audio CD)
People are criticising this album, but I think it knocks spots off of Oracular Spectacular. True, there are no hit singles but its good when a band do what they want to do rather than thinking about what's catchy and what's going to make the most money.

More psychadelic than the first LP, but every song is brilliant, especially the 12 minute long Siberian Breaks, a medley of 3 or 4 songs-I never thought I'd be able to keep interested for the full 12 minutes but I was wrong-its a compelling listen.

Best album of 2010 so far by far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oasis Swansong, 4 April 2010
This review is from: Falling Down (Audio CD)
The last single to be released by Oasis is a great one to go out on!!!

Falling Down is a brilliant song, possibly the best on the 'Dig Out Your Soul' album, but what makes this single worth the money is the original b-side "those swollen hand blues", written and sung by Noel. Just as good as the A-side. Oasis are well known for their B-sides which are often as good, if not better than their A-sides (check out 'Round Are Way', 'The Masterplan' and 'Acquiesce' (I don't think thats spelt right but you get the idea!!).

The remixes aren't bad either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Falcon Brilliant!, 3 Mar. 2010
This review is from: Falcon (Audio CD)
The latest from The Courteeners is a brilliant album, equally as good, if not better than their debut, St. Jude. There are more acoustic-type songs than rockers on this album, but that isn't a problem, especially since the acoustic sngs included here are superb, lyrically and melodically. Particular highlights for me include "Cameo Broach" and "The Rest Of the World Has Gone Home". There are some rockers, such as "You Overdid It Doll" (which should have easily got to number 1!!) and "Sycophant" which is also brilliant. "Will It Be This Way Forever?", the albums closing track could be the new James Bond theme tune!!

Highly recommended for Courteeners fans and for fans of rock and Britpop in the vein of Oasis, Pulp, Blur etc.

This review is from: You Overdid It Doll (Audio CD)
Brilliant song, different from what they've previously released, but their best song to date!!
Nice to see a band actually bother to put some effort into a decent B-side as well!! The CD single is not dead!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not that bad, 28 Jan. 2010
The film itself is great, there are some really funny pieces in there, although there is no particular plot line as such.

Everyone seems to complain about the image quality, but i really don't think its as bad as people make out. I've included some screenshots so you can make your own mind up. Yes it is a bit grainy, and the contrast/brightness seems too high at times, but it really didn't hinder my enjoyment of the film.

The sound is a bit dodgy, especially during quiet parts when there's a bit of a hiss, but this is barely noticeable when the songs are playing.

This is the best available on DVD until Apple finally pull their fingers out and release an official, remastered version, hopefully along with 'Let It Be', which they must know fans have been waiting years for!!
