5.0 out of 5 stars "The Burden of the Blade", 12 Oct 2008
Claymore is based on the manga series made by Norihiro Yagi in Shonen Jump in Japan. The series features female half human, half demon hunters named "Claymores", who are hired to exterminate the "Yoma", demons who feed on the guts of humans and take over their bodies. The series focuses on one Claymore in particular, Clare, in her pursuit of the yoma.

This isn't an anime for young kids, its fairly graphic as a lot of blood is shown as well as some pretty graphic deaths. Though the mature should be able to stomach it.

This anime has a stunning soundtrack, the animation is greatly detailed, and the dubbing is fantastic. Its a fun anime to watch.

I totally recommend this =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Funimation once again delivers excellence in One Piece, 12 Oct 2008
The exciting saga that is known as One Piece continues once again as it should be, Uncut, unedited, perfect.

Season 1 continues where first Voyage left off and it continues to please. The exciting conclusion to the Kuro arc and the introduction of Sanji, a cook who dreams of the All Blue.

I can't really describe the awesome factor of this series as its way off the scales, and Funimation's dubbing has only made it all the more sweeter to enjoy.

I thoroughly recommend buying this and telling 4kids entertainment, who almost ruined One Piece by turning it into a complete trainwreck, where to stick their products ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent MMO. Can kick the crap out of WoW =D, 20 Sep 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Mythic have made a stunning game, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is one of the best MMOs I have ever played, it beats the crap out of World of Warcraft because it does what WoW should've done in the first place.

Where to start, first of all, the gameplay, in WAR you have 6 races of Humans, Dwarves and High Elves for the forces of Order, and Chaos, Greenskins (Orcs and Goblins) and Dark Elves for the forces of Destruction, tied up in 4 tiers of zones, each with its own level caps where players can take part in RvR (The better, more beefed up version of PvP) campaigns, take part in Public Quests as well as Private quests, craft, loot, and do what usual MMOs do for around 40 levels. What WAR does differently is that it has other levelling systems such as the Renown system, where you gain "experience" to unlock extremely powerful loot from defeating enemy players in Open Realm vs Realm combat and scenarios (Instanced Realm vs Realm combat). Defeating enemy players will grant a generous amount of exp and Renown exp, however, you will gain further exp from The Tome of Knowledge for defeating a certain amount of players over the course of the entire game and unlock special achievements and titles for doing such feats as killing 100 Bright Wizards.

Which brings me to the next point, the most innovative part of WAR, The Tome of Knowledge itself. This books tracks EVERYTHING you as a player does, from the story of the warhammer world, to how many enemy Bright Wizards you have slain in RvR combat, as well as tracking your quests showing armor sets and so on. The Tome of Knowledge is GENIUS!

The next innovative thing about WAR is the Living Guild System. Everything you and your guild mates do, will give experience to the Guild itself, allowing for unlocks such as Standards, tactics, abilities, and access to Guild Pubs. Once again, GENIUS!

Next point, Graphics, THe Graphics in WAR are excellent, they run off the same engine as The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, so if you can run that just fine, you can definitely run WAR.

I'm only barely scratching the surface of this game, you have to play this for yourself and experience the Majesty and Glory this game has to offer right from when you create your first character

There are a few minor issues at this point in time as its very early days for WAR such as the usual server queues and at times you will Crash to the Desktop, but certainly don't judge or condemn the game for minor things that will be fixed with the continuous flow of patches, its an excellent work of gaming art and it certainly deserves a spot as the king of MMOs when it rips that title away from WoW >=D

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultra Beatdown continues the success of Dragonforce, 23 Aug 2008
Ultra Beatdown is an excellent album. It continues the successful style that Dragonforce is known for and makes it even better. Everything a Dragonforce fan could want is right here as usual, from ZP's unique vocals, Herman and Sam's insane guitar solos, Vadim's fast keyboard routines, Dave's ultra beatdown drumming (Sorry I couldn't resist) and Frederic's amazing bass rhythms.

And thats not all, the special edition here has 2 extra songs. A brand new song (Scars of Yesterday) and a song from Dragonforce's side project Shadow Warriors (Strike of The Ninja).

I can't give this album enough credit, its simply incredible. Dragonforce have made a success from their fast style and it continues in this album and puts even more emphasis on the style they play.

I seriously recommend this album for anyone, old fans and new fans alike. Plus its safe for kids, no swearing in this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME OF ALL TIME! STORYTELLING AT ITS FINEST!!!, 22 Jun 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game on release, having never owned a Metal Gear game before. My only experience with Metal Gear was the demo of MGS2 with the game Zone of the Enders, another Hideo Kojima game.

So before this game was released, I stayed up for about 20 hours ploughing through Metal Gear Solid videos to catch up on the story which was always epic. After that was done, I began playing MGS4.

I am NOT going to post any spoilers about this game, you have to see this for yourself. Its just so epic that anyone posting spoilers in a review should be shot by Solid Snake's tranq gun.

The soundtrack is amazing and emotional, every song fits in everywhere and there are some bonus unlockable songs throughout the game, and some.. surprising ones too. Songs which will fill you with nostalgia, and some which will just make you go O_o;;;

Now usually, the negative reviews on this game would come from the long LONG cutscenes and the installations. I just like to say to the people who wrote those reviews... do you even know why Metal Gear Solid is famous? MGS prides itself on its cutscenes. As for the installations, get over it, it was gonna happen sooner or later anyway so stop complaining =/

Ok, the important part now... apart from the absolutely epic cutscenes which are so epic that Hideo Kojima should be considered a Gaming GOD!

Gameplay, as usual your left to sneak around... OR you could get a huge gun and blow crap sky high... OR decide to never kill anyone... OR you could never use guns and just knock people out or use CQC (Close Quarters Combat) to kill the enemies.. OR you can take sides. The controls feel perfect and fit extremely well. Even without Dualshock 3 you can still enjoy the game alot.

Now, after you finish your initial run of MGS4, you could just put it down... OR you can challenge The Boss Extreme mode and try for the ultimate challenge of MGS4... OR you can play Metal Gear Online with people around the EU... Unfortunately you cannot play against the US or Japanese players which is really unfair =/ Thats the only negative thing about MGS4 and its an optional thing.

In other words, THIS GAME IS PERFECT!!! It completely deserves the Game of the Year award...

Hideo Kojima and everyone at Kojima Productions, Congratulations!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC SERIES!!! The best sports manga ever created!, 30 May 2008
Eyeshield 21 is a story about the Deimon Devil Bats American Football Team and a student on this team named Sena Kobayakawa.

Sena was a generally spineless and was always bullied into being a Gopher for people throughout his time throughout school, His only friend being his senior, Mamori Anezaki. This all changed however when, off chance he was thrown into the Football club house by 3 bullies when he fails to get them some food. There he meets Ryokan Kurita and Yoichi Hiruma. Together the 3 of them recruit more people into the team mostly through Hiruma's method, and together they aim to attend the Christmas Bowl, an all-Japan Football Tournament.

Now generally this would've put me to sleep had it not been for the most craziest antics I have ever seen in manga... EVER! Just from opening up volume 1, you will enter a fantastic manga and be hooked on it for many year.

Funny enough, In the years this manga has been running in Shonen Jump in Japan (since 2002), the ammount of kids playing American Football in Japan has almost doubled. Now, yes this is Shonen Jump Advance, so its generally ages 16+ for the US and UK, but to Japan, this is easily kids stuff with the goofy characters.

I seriously advise anyone who sees this manga series on sale here or anywhere else to buy this, it is that good. I cannot find any fault with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent MMORPG, definately one game to own besides WoW, 13 May 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I've been playing this game for 4 years. Its just fantastic, sure graphically its not the looker and won't win a beauty contest like WoW does, but the gameplay, story and mechanics definately make up for everything.

If your just about to get into FFXI, I suggest you get this as it has the original game, all 4 expansions, and every content update in it, saving you hours of downloading files.

1.0 out of 5 stars AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGUE!!!, 13 May 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Not only is this game incredibly late, it is also stupidly overpriced. EA need to be taught a lesson, so I encourage everyone who reads this to make sure this game is a commercial flop on the first week to force EA to rethink things over. Personally, I hope EA goes into bankrupcy so that mistakes like this can be avoided later on.

Even though this is the best party experience for our generation of gaming, the fact that the Wii, PS2 and PS3 counterparts are gonna be delayed even further doesn't make up for this blasphemy as this wasn't even an Xbox 360 exclusive in the US to begin with.

Avoid this game like anime fans avoid 4kids!

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT NOW!!! O_o, 10 April 2008
This is the best thing from Funimation in a long time! While its not the best movie in the world, it does serve as a great preview for what Funimation have in store for us anime fans when they redub the Alabasta arc and sell it on DVD.

I absolutely loved this movie to bits and I am so glad I imported it from the US. The film is rated PG-13 in the US so it would be around a Certificate 12 in this country I'd guess, still though I think younger kids would love this!

In Japan One Piece is a kids anime from Shonen Jump (Shonen means Young boy in Japanese), so this would also be a kiddie anime in my opinion. When I become I parent someday I'd probably show the One Piece dubs by Funimation to my kids all the time.

Anyways, to sum up...

Oh, and destroy all 4kids versions of One Piece merchandise ^_^

5.0 out of 5 stars Pre-release review, 10 April 2008
Ok, to clear things up, this is by Funimation. NOT 4kids!!!

Basically, since Funimation have obtained the license to the show (yay!) they are redubbing EVERY episode 4kids screwed up. So this time around we'll have no edits to violence, swearing, Japanese kanji, names, and no bad "jokes" or "puns", no renamed people, no skipped arcs of the story, no annoying voices and no crappy 4kids edits.

If you really want to see how bad 4kids One Piece was, search the top ten worst 4kids one piece dub moments by a person named "Tsukento" on Youtube and compare them to the original japanese anime and what Funimation have done to improve One Piece over the 4kids dub.

This time we'll have everything an anime/manga otaku can hope for. The Journey is about to set sail, and this time, its better than before! THANK YOU FUNIMATION!

By the way, if you have the 4kids DVDs of one piece, BURN THEM and send them to 4kids in the US saying they can have they're crap back. There I said it!
