A clockwork orange, 4 Jun 2003
I have only recently watched this and although i agree with the obvious fact that there is far more explicit violence on our screens today i was not at all disappointed by this in fact the contrary.
I think its missing the point to complain that this is not disturbing enough, and ironically the reason that Kubrick banned this was that it was being misunderstood as a movie which glorifies violence which is completely what this film was not about.
I recently had a conversation/debate about the film with someone who claimed the film was "poor" but i then went on to establish that he did not understand the concept of this being a political satire.
My view on the content, this is a brilliant, inventive film with dark comedy and strong political commentary working like never before. But watchout its an intelligent film, word of advice: dont watch this if your expecting some brainless, violent action, youll only be disappointed.
