A: We have entered your parcel's tracking number on your order and the name of the courier. Please go to the courier's website and enter the tracking number. Most likely the courier is waiting for you to contact them as they could not deliver to you.

Q: How do I get a VAT receipt.
A: According to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) the receipt provided by us in your Amazon order is valid for VAT purposes provided the VAT number is stated (which can be hand written).Our VAT number is:  GB 185 6675 15.     About Smart Electricals Direct

    Delivery

    Our delivery service are either undertaken by our own staff, or using UPS or Interlink courier services. and sometimes private couriers and Royal Mail postal services. Delivery is available throughout the UK. All deliveries will be door to door only and you may be required to assist the driver if necessary. A delivery is usually only to the first ground floor room or garage etc, although it is possible that some drivers will be able to take the product to a specific room though this is not normally part of their contract. In order to make a claim of transit damage against a courier, transit damaged goods must be notified within 48 hours of the delivery, and we will require photographs of the goods and the box. Should goods arrive with damaged packaging you  must sign and record this on the delivery note, and we strongly advise that you insist on checking the contents prior to signing for acceptance, as you will be otherwise signing that goods have been received in good condition. Or you can refuse the item as damaged on delivery. If an item is refused you must contact us immediately with an RMA request. (see returns and refunds)


    We aim to deliver all goods on the date advised, however from time to time situations outside of our control may arise, resulting in delivery not taking place on the advised day. In such instances Smart Electricals Direct can not accept any responsibility for loss of earnings/time, and do not provide compensation for delays in transit. We will do our best to keep you notified of any issues at all times.


    Failed deliveries may result in a charge for the failed delivery and redelivery to you.

    Any item returned without an RMA request will be deemed as 'unwanted' and refunds will be made less the delivery cost.

    Free next day and expedited delivery applies to orders placed on a weekday before 12.00pm. Delivery will be next business day. Bank Holidays excluded.

    Items will be shipped in manufacturers packaging unless otherwise requested. Items requested to be wrapped will add an additional day to the handling time.

    Orders will not be accepted until we have confirmed shipment. Any items that require shipment to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Scottish Highlands and other non-mainland UK addresses may incur a supplementary delivery charge due to their location, as will non-mainland addresses in other countries to which we ship products. This can be arranged by contacting us on 01202 703000, where we can quote an additional shipping charge.

    It is your responsibility to check your goods upon delivery for shortages or damage and to make a note of such on the carriers consignment note when you sign for the goods. Any damage or shortage needs to be reported within 48 hours.

    Products Returns - Unwanted within 7 days of receipt

    As a consumer you have the right, under the Distance Selling Regulations (EU) 2000, to cancel the contract and receive a refund for your goods if cancelled in writing within 7 days.
    If you wish to return any product, we require that you report it to us via the Amazon email service with the subject field stating ‘RMA Request – Unwanted within 7 days’. This must be completed within 7 days of the product being delivered to you.

    We will offer to collect the goods from you at your cost or you can return the goods to us yourself, at your own cost, via an insured courier. Should goods be received back to us damaged it will be your responsibility to claim for the damage from the courier and we will not issue a refund.

    Unwanted items returned for refund or exchange, for whatever reason, but within 7 days will NOT be subject to a warehouse re-stocking fee, and you will be refunded the value of the returned item less any collection/delivery charges incurred by Smart Electricals Direct. Any item must still be in an ‘as brand new’ condition with all packaging complete and intact, and any marking or damage of the product may result in Smart Electricals Direct being unable to offer a full refund.
    For us to collect unwanted goods, all products returned MUST be complete and contain ALL the original manuals, blank warranty cards, accessories and any other documentation included with the original shipment. The cost of collection will be deducted from any refund made to you.

    If you wish to return a product within this 7 day period without the original packaging, you will need to purchase appropriate and adequate packaging yourself, and return to us via an insured courier service at your cost.
    Note: goods that arrive in this manner damaged, whether by transit or not, will not be accepted for refund.
    Provided that the return meets these conditions then we will give you a full refund of the returned product less any delivery/collection expenses.

    Products Returns - Unwanted between  7-14  days of receipt

    Products Returns - Damaged in Transit
    If any items are damaged in transit, we require that you report it to us via the Amazon email service with the subject field stating ‘RMA Request – Damaged In Transit’. This must be completed within 48 hours as we will need to claim on the damage from our courier.
    If the packaging of items are visibly damaged on receipt, then you should sign the couriers delivery note accordingly, goods signed for as received in good condition may not necessarily be eligible for return due to transit damage.

    Please ensure you detail on your online Returns & Faults notes how the goods were signed for and whether there was any visible damage to the box when it was delivered.
    Items must be ready to be returned with their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation.
    Damaged goods signed for in good condition may not be accepted for return.

    Products Returns - Faulty within 14 days of receipt

    If you wish to return any faulty product, we require that you report it to us via the Amazon email service with the subject field stating ‘RMA Request – faulty within 14 days’. This must be completed within 14 days of the product being delivered to you.
    Any product returned as faulty within the first 14 days of receipt must be assessed by a manufacturer approved engineer to confirm that it is faulty. This process can take up to 5 working days from collection of the product.

    Should a fault be confirmed by the manufacturer then we will offer a full refund or replacement of the product.
    There is no cost to return an item that has developed a fault as this will be covered by Smart Electricals Direct, however should no fault be discovered, you will be charged for the cost of collection and re-delivery to you, payable prior to the product being returned to you.
    All original packaging should be retained for returns/refund/warranty purposes. Should you require Smart Electricals Direct to arrange collection of a product you MUST have kept all the original packaging and accessories. If your goods develop a fault within 14 days and you have not kept the packaging you will be referred back to the manufacturer for a warranty claim.

    Products Returns - Faulty after 14 days of receipt

    If any product develops a fault after the first 14 days since receipt, we require that you report it via the Amazon email service, with the subject field stating ‘RMA Request – faulty after 14 days’. Any product that develops a fault after the first 14 days since receipt of the product then provided your item is within its warranty period, you are entitled to a warranty repair.

    We will either handle the servicing ourselves or direct you via one of our authorised agents. This does not apply to faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse for which there can be no refund or exchange. You may be liable for the courier costs to return the goods in the event that it has been established that the fault is a result of customer misuse, rather than a manufacturing fault.
