    About Smithfield Wine

    Welcome to the Smithfield Wine, a family run independent wine merchant and we hope, your truly personal wine merchant. We are constantly on the lookout for new wines that offer great value for money ranging from small producers to larger well known vineyards.
    We have been sourcing and selling wine online for 11 years and have an extensive knowledge base from which to offer advice and assistance – making your search for quality wine as easy and pain free as possible. We cater for the more discerning and adventurous wine lover and as such, you are unlikely to find our wines on the supermarket shelves. That doesn’t mean they have to be expensive though – just a bit different and representing great value for money in their respective price bracket.

    We can also help you find the right wines for that favourite recipe or for that important dinner party. Email us with the details or call us and we will do our best to come up with suggestions, taking into account your tastes your menu and your budget.

    We also select the best in vegetarian, vegan and Kosher wines. We were pioneers in the identification of wines suitable for vegetarians and vegans 11 years ago – when the ‘big guys’ hadn’t even considered it!
    We organise formal or informal wine tasting events for wine clubs, social clubs and corporate hospitality functions. Should you need further advice or information on wines from our cellars, please feel free to contact us by phone or email. We will always give unbiased, down to earth opinions on any of our wines.

    We are approachable, definitely not pompous or precious about wine and we would like you to think of us as ‘your personal wine merchant’.

    Smithfield Wine Dispatch Policies

    PLEASE NOTE

    Unfortunately we cannot ship to The Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Please call us before placing an order for delivery to those regions.

    WE WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING POINTS ON DELIVERY

    Use a work address if possible for delivery

    Give instructions for parcels to be left with neighbours or we can leave the parcel at your risk in a porch, Garage, back door etc without a signature.

    You must state this in the extra information section.

    If you are sending to another person, please send to their work address if possible and include a contact telephone number for them.

    Contact your local depot as soon as you receive a card

    Delivery times will be between 9.00am to 7pm

    The carriers policy is to attempt delivery twice, if on the first occasion they are unable to deliver they will leave a card with the consignment number and branch telephone number. They will then attempt a delivery on the following day, if this fails you will have to collect the parcel from the depot.

    If you do not call the depot the parcel will be returned to us after 3 days, the cost of which will be passed on to the customer. To re-send the parcel a further delivery charge will be made.

    Returns and Refunds

    Returns and Refunds

    The carriers policy is to attempt delivery twice, if on the first occasion they are unable to deliver they will leave a card with the consignment number and branch telephone number. They will then attempt a delivery on the following day, if this fails you will have to collect the parcel from the depot.

    If you do not call the depot the parcel will be returned to us after 3 days, the cost of which will be passed on to the customer. To re-send the parcel a further delivery charge will be made.

    Goods must be checked at time of delivery and any loss or breakage must be reported to the courier at the time of delivery.

    Damaged goods not noted at the time of delivery will be exempt from compensation. Also contact Smithfield Wine within 24 hours to report this.

    If goods are damaged or broken we will either give a full refund for the broken goods or arrange for another one to be sent out to you.

    If the purchaser is not satisfied with the goods we will refund the price of the goods, less the price of delivery if the goods are returned to us, in the original packaging and in as new condition at the purchasers cost.

    Refunds will be made within 28 days.
