    About Edge & Wax - Bliss Bikes

    We have a passion for the snow, and this is what led to the beginnings of Edge & Wax in 2005. Working from a workshop shed a thirst for knowledge led to training in Ski and Snowboard tuning. Time on the slopes is precious so we understood it was important that your equipment serves you well. In 2008 we expanded the business becoming BLiSS OUTDOORS (Bicycle, Lifestyle Snow Sports).

    Our experience of fitting footbeds for ski and snowboard boots led us to move into footbed customistation for other footwear, and after one year of extensive testing we now are confident in recommending this proven service to our customers.

    At the same time, our 20 years of cycle industry experience was not going to waste. We are still responsible for the complete design, development and production of a comprehensive bike line for the largest cycle retailer in the UK. This is what led us to offer a dedicated cycle workshop service from our premises.

    For 2010-11 we are expanding once again, with extra space now being transformed into additional showroom and fitting space, and an improved warehouse for our online shopping services and

    Edge & Wax is a husband and wife affair, with a great supporting cast. Scott spends a lot of the time in the workshop filing away. He is ably supported by Nikki, who sorts out Scott's bad paperwork, is also trained in ski and snowboard servicing, and we think is the only boot fitter in the UK who can also serve those hard of hearing with her sign language skills! Harry our workshop manager is Cytech level 2 qualified for bicycle servicing and is also an extremely competent ski and snowboard technician with hundreds of services under his belt, all hand finished.

    We are pretty easy to find despite being in a sleepy little village 10 miles north of Brighton, and 10 miles south of Gatwick Airport.

    We have the A24 on one side of the village (approx 5 minutes) and the M23/A23 on the other side (approx 10 minutes).

    We find the easiest way to get to us (apart from a GPS!) is to take the A24 which comes past Horsham and heads to Worthing. As you drive down past Horsham, about 5 miles down you will get to a crossroads with a Texaco and Macdonalds on the opposite side of the road. Go straight on, but watch out for the signpost to "Partridge Green" on your left after a few hundred metres (And after the 'most advanced speed camera in Europe') take this exit. This road will roll and meander for about 3 miles. When you get to the village, you will see "The Partridge Pub" on your left, take the exit there, onto the High Street, and then the second right is signposted "Huffwood Trading Park". Drive straight down the middle, we are the building staring back at you!

    New Ski Set-Up Assistance

    Thank you for buying your new skis from Edge & Wax. In order that we can set these up for you correctly, we need to know some information about you. When you buy skis you will automatically be sent an email requesting this information

    Please Note - Boot Sole Length

    This is the length of the boot, NOT the size of the ski boots! This one is easy to get wrong, so the way to identify the boot length is by looking normally on the side of the heel of your boot.

    What happens next?

    Once we have all of this information, your new skis will be waxed – with a waxing iron, the bindings installed and a boot of the same dimensions installed so that we can test the binding is working correctly. The DIN setting will be matched to your details given, and we will also check what is called the “Forward Pressure”, a small indicator at the back of the binding that tells us the boot is being correctly held. The skis are then boxed up in our unique SkiShield Container (For UK only) for shipping to you by courier.

    Q: I already know my DIN setting, please set it to this.

    A: We understand you have this information but we are still required to set the DIN setting on your bindings as per the DIN chart and binding test machine that we use. You can subsequently change your DIN setting (Please use a qualified ski technician to do this) but we must ship skis as per the DIN chart. This is for your own safety. Many times we have found people skiing with incorrect DINS.

    Q: I do not have ski boots, please set the bindings up to my shoe size

    A: We cannot set bindings up at all without the ski boot length measurement! Therefore we would in this instance ship the skis and bindings to you unset (But with the skis still waxed) so that the shop fitting your ski boots or renting your ski boots will need to finish the set up which on most skis takes just a minute. This is all for your own safety!

    Q: My friends want to try these skis out too, please set them up so that anyone can use them

    A: Your friends won’t remain so if they subsequently rupture a ligament or suffer a break! Aftermarket skis are designed to be set-up correctly for one person. The critical elements of boot length, DIN setting, and Forward Pressure all combine to make a safe skiing experience. So we do not recommend moving skis between mates, and if you are going to do this, please let a ski technician do the changeover to avoid any risk of injury! It isn’t just a case of changing the DIN setting and turning a dial.

    Our standard shipping service normally uses Royal Mail Registered Post to get your order safely to you. PLEASE NOTE we use a signed service for your security, so please do specify delivery to your work address if you will not be in to sign for your order.

    Our standard shipping and handling service normally takes 3-5 working days on items in stock


    Our express shipping service is provided by FedEx, and is a signed for service. We strongly recommend that someone is in to receive your package and sign for it, or have it delivered to your place of work.

    Our express shipping and handling service means that any orders received before 3pm of in-stock items will be shipped that day, and will reach you the next working day (For England, Wales, Please allow 2 working days for other UK regions)


    This is for shipping of bulky items such as skis, snowboards, boots and sport tubes storage systems. Due to the excess handling charges from shipping companies, we offer a single service and use our express courier FedEx or UPS to deliver your goods. This is a signed for service, so please be available to sign for your goods or request delivery to an alternative address.


    We offer different levels of international shipping depending on the country we are shipping to, the speed of service required, and the weight of your order. PLEASE NOTE that in all cases with international shipping, the figure shown is our estimated shipping cost. When we receive your order will will contact our courier to get the confirmed shipping cost for your order, and contact you if there is any change in shipping costs to allow you the option of changing the level of service, or canceling your order.

    Skis will be assembled, waxed, tested and then repackaged for dispatch to the customer. When shipping skis a courier will be utilised requiring a signature. Wherever possible we subsidise the shipping of skis to ensure good customer value for money.


    We may undertake additional security checks before shipping goods to you. This is for our customer's protection from any potential fraud, and thank you for your understanding.
