Quite a sad story about a survivor from a world which is attacked from the dark horde, who tells her story to a lover.

I won't give away the ending but Glynn James once again has written a fantastic piece of work, and a great addition to his growing number of books.

This was a good short story and has me interested in the rest of the Diary of the Displaced series. However, I'm not a big fan of this type of "diary" writing style. If the novels in the series are written the same way, I think I would have a tough time getting through them. In a short story format, it worked well.

But, zombie lovers be forewarned -- this isn't your typical zombie gore fest.

4 stars because his first book just blew me away and this was a really good read as well, but not quite as good and inventive since the originality of his ideas were mostly established in the original book, Diary of the Displaced. I suggest you read it anyway, just know that this is not his *best* work and try his other books as well.
