Does anyone know if there a german language given?

Posted on 25 Aug 2012 14:14:22 BDT
Right now there is no real info. It is highly likely that season 1 & 2 will have German audio, since the US-released do as well.

For season 3 and 4 Warner might use them same disks as in Germany or choose to use the same disks as in the US - those lack German audio.

For season 5 it is likely they omit German audio, since right now there is no acutal German release on the horizon.

So summary: Season 1 & 2 probably German audio, Season 3 & 4 there is a 50:50 chance and Season 5: probably no German audio.

Isildur says:
actually, if you have the time, and can check one disc on each season, that would be the best, since sometimes audios and subs are hidden on the back cover.
I'm interested on the spanish, specially on the castillian spanish.

One of the key things about comedy (especially sitcoms like TBBT) is really about understanding the humour, I just can't imagine the translated version (whatever language it's going to be) will ever be the same/as funny as the original i.e. in ENGLISH.

Wish you guys would learn to speak better English, saves having the need for all these translations ;-) (and btw English is not my 1st "learned" language either, but it is now certainly my preferred 1st choice language for tv shows, movies, music etc)

I'll be enjoying this TBBT boxset in HD glory and in its original language :-)

Well here it is... will post it before I start watching. :)

Season 1:
Audio --> DTS-HDMA 5.1 English; DD 2.0 German; DD2.0 Castilian Spanish
Sub --> Castilian Spanish, English, French, German Latin Spanish

Season 2:
Audio --> DTS-HDMA 5.1 English; DD 2.0 German; DD2.0 Castilian Spanish
Sub --> Castilian Spanish, French, German Latin Spanish (English not listed o_O )

Season 3:
Audio --> DTS-HDMA 5.1 English; DD2.0 Castilian Spanish (German not listed)
Sub --> Castilian Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Swedish

Season 4:
Audio --> DTS-HDMA 5.1 English; DD2.0 Brazilian Portuguese (...)
Sub --> Brazilian Portuguese, French, Latin Spanish

Season 5:
Audio --> DTS-HDMA 5.1 English; DD2.0 Brazilian Portuguese; DD2.0 Castilian Spanish
Sub --> English, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Latin Spanish, Castilian Spanish

So there ya go. Quite inconsistent if you ask me.
Can't say what's really on the discs until I've watched them. :)

P. Thorrez says:
I'm personally a fan of original versions (be it english, french, japanese or whatever) and I have a good level of english, but to be able to make friends/family discover this series it HAS to have same language subtitles (in my case, french). So if you can confirm there are french (non canadian) subtitles on each episode, I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

In reply to an earlier post on 13 Sep 2012 18:30:45 BDT
P. Thorrez says:
Inconsistent indeed: no french subs in season three.

I'll keep my... unofficial... box set.

Sigh, I'd really like to buy this series, but they just won't let me. :(((

In reply to an earlier post on 13 Sep 2012 22:46:51 BDT
Yes i checked, and there is indeed French subs on all discs on all seasons even tough they dont specifie it on the back.

P. Thorrez says:
Frnech subs? Not Canadian French? On all episodes?

Can't we have a confirmation from the Amazon staff too?

I wouldn't want to be stuck with a version I can't show to my friends and family.

In reply to an earlier post on 14 Sep 2012 09:09:15 BDT
yes, it says french anyways i really cant tell the differance between canadian french and french but there are are french subs on all discs. but it you are un sure go ahead and ask amazon and see if they can confirm it for you. it would suck if it were the wrong subs.

Thanks for te info.

Asking Amazon would have been my first option but how do I do that: I didn't see any link on the product's page. :(

Awesome! Couldn't find how to contact them. :P

But again, thanks, it's already under way!

Subs for bonuses are less critical, I barely watch those myself. :P

Bought this with Game of Thrones!
