nowhere on the high street for starters!

i usually put all my finished games on amazon, they sell quickly and the fees arent outrageous.

Cex give as good prices as Amazon (by the time you take off Amazon's listing fees). Gamestation will also beat Cex's offer by £1.

You usually get slightly more for your games selling them on than you do on Amazon marketplace, but they tend to sell quicker on here

I just traded in MW2 as well, £30 in Cex. Personally prefer that than waiting for the money and would have got the same on Amazon minus fees. Have sold a ton of stuff on here though, it's very useful for slightly lower value items.

MJ Kuga says: has just started a video games trade in scheme giving fairly decent prices. All done online. Takes about 2 days to get your credit.

Whatever you do, don't trade in at Gamestation.

I had about 19 games and asked how much I would get for them. They replied by saying "wow you have a lot here, you'll get a nice tidy sum for all these".
Then they checked them all out, verified they were all mint condition (some I had only owned for two months) and told me they would give me:

What a joke!!!

2 Games for 19? No way... I've still got them today as I figured I'd save more by keeping them.

If you're wanting to sell/trade in a game that has come out recently, it's sometimes worth checking out HMV. They sometimes do offers where they'll let you trade in certian games for a reasonable amount against a new release - I got £36 for trading in Modern Warfare 2 when Assassin's Creed 2 came out for example (after paying £32 for MW2 on here aswell). Outside of those offers though, their trade in values are hit and miss (and their prices for preowned games are even worse).

"Whatever you do, don't trade in at Gamestation."

Actually, do if you have a Cex near as they'll match those prices and add a quid on top. Also I was staggered to find that although Cex were offering £7 for the newest Jak and Daxter PSP game, Gamestation were offering £13. They beat Cex on a couple of other games I was trading in too (Wolverine was one from memory), so by going there I got the best of both worlds.

By doing that I normally get as much (or more) than I'd get on Amazon Marketplace or Ebay - often more once you've taken the website/Paypal fees off. I do still use Marketplace on occasion though.

Best place I've found to sell has been on Go to their For Sale section and sick the game details in. About a month ago I got £28 for Fifa 10. This was at least £10 more than I could have got elsewhere for a used copy. No fees but if you've not sold on there first, the buyer will probably ask you to sell first (which I did). I sent it recorded delivery to a guy with good feedback and got the money via Paypal gift straight away.
You'd be a mug to trade in at HMV or Game as the product they have is so over-priced.

I sell a lot on Amazon, but in all honesty there fees are a rip off. 17% plus a 50p per item charge? WTF is that for?

Its worth checking out HMV though. I got a £90 trade in on a DSi, and because HMV's prices can be closer to the RRP price, the trade in value is higher as well.

When you consider Game sell things like Far Cry 2 for £8 and Killzone 2 for £12, how much can be expected for trade ins?

Mr. K. Arts says:
shop around and get quotes, selling directly yourself is probably best but most places will try and match each other, blockbusters do trade in and are quite competitive and will definately try and match Hmv, game and gamestation, they don't pay a lot for consoles in cash terms but they sell them pretty cheaply as well and you get a months free rents on top!

surprisingly not many people seem to realise this, I've found some RARE games gathering dust in my local store.

Blockbuster in my experience have been pretty poor 90% of the time i've taken something in. Gamestation at least do the "we won't be beaten on trade ins" offer, so you can always go to HMV or whatever first, and have Gamestation beat their price.
