I dunno about you guys, but I'm a total casual gamer these days. Been playing Jetpack Joyride, Cut The Rope and Plants vs. Zombies* on my tablet.

How about you?

*It's a terrible Android port too. Bad PopCap!

PS - we're also running this topic as an 'Isla Fisher lookalike' competition, as a footnote. If your, for instance, girlfriend or wife looks like her, post a photo or six and we'll vote on how similar the resemblance is. Thanks.

I got the last post by accident and deleted so you could get in there mate and R stole it .....lol

I don't play as much as I use to anymore and trying to cutback to a few titles every few months and clearing backlog games. Find now that I have a PC, more interested in upgrading it then buying new games at the moment.

Anyhow, congrats on getting to 9999 after 3 + years...

Yaaaaaaaay part 2!!

I played some Anomaly: Warzone Earth last night... it's very good. Completed 3 more missions. Would highly recommend it to anyone that fancies a different take on the Tower Defense game. Also played a bit more Wipeout HD as well.

Hurrah! The first 9999 on the thread, here's to many more :-) My right hand may look like Isla Fisher's so I guess I could send a photo of that.

Currently playing AC:Revelations. Still feels a bit checklisty but is strangely ambient and enjoyable after a hard day's work so can't complain. It is one of those games that, if played for more than 3-4 hours, starts to grind my gears.

Also downloaded Slender which I recommend everyone try (it's a free download... I went through the official site which took me to an Atomic Games site to download.) Very simple, very scary, has to be played with lights off and volume up. Try and collect 8 pages without getting caught by the Slenderman. I got 4, turned it off and changed my underwear.

One of my mates made me play Slender the other day.

I played it with the lights on and my mate sitting next to me and I was still freaked out.

I got 1 page, got lost, then got accosted by the Slenderman and was even more disorientated after running away from him, then he caught up with me again.

I think it's a really cool concept but I am too much of a girl to play a game where I am unable to destroy my stalker with a vast array of weaponry.

I am currently playing Borderlands on PS3 - just finished the Arid Badland missions - level 20, undecided as to whether or not i'll continue with the game; seems pretty repetitive. Still definitely up for some co-op at some point if anyone is still playing? I haven't played any yet.

Playing Metal Gear Solid (PS1) on Vita which is as good as it always was; not having too many problems with old-fashioned views/controls.

Started to play a little of the LBP2 story mode, which I will probably play through over the next few weeks. The levels are really well put together, but the jumping is still too floaty for my liking and i'm not sure i'll ever get to grips with the level designer tools. Does anyone on here make LBP levels?

Also did a few evels of Machinarium the other day; reminds me a lot of Escape Plan. I like the creativity of these sort of games, but they don't tend to hold my attention for too long.

Just received Arkham City in the post, but will try to make a little progress on the games i've already started before focussing my attention on that.

Currently playing Fallout New Vegas, and it only seems appropriate that I post my backlog as well. My aim is to get through all of these before this thread hits 9999...

Not started:
Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Dark Souls
Bully Scholarship Edition

Not finished:
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Final Fantasy 13
Grand Theft Auto 4
Castlevania Lord of Shadow
Halo Anniversary

...and Borderlands 2 on pre-order, which ought to help massivley

Nothing to report really. Been playing armoured kill on bf3 and so far its not too bad, better than close quarters.

And PS+ this month holds nothing of interest so multiplayer all the way at the mo. That machinarium looked OK but it looks like a puzzle game too far to the annoying side of puzzler. I like puzzle games but prefer the cuboid type. The fighting side scroller isnt for me either.

And Congrats on the new thread. My support is unwavered as long as Nessy stays out of here;-) Only joking Nessy.

Been meaning to try Slender, recently read through the forum in which the Slender Man was created, very creepy character...
Mostly bouncing between BF3 and Skyrim after long haitus for both...

Well, currently Ghanks' right hand is winning the 'Isla Fisher lookalike' competition, but there's still lots of time for entries. Please.

"Poor auld John (Equinox80) is in the same boat as you where."

I won't be back until the 31st October unfortunately. The last 2 weeks already feels like an eternity :(

Still I'll appreciate it all the more when I'm back online.

ohh yay new thread :)

I've got back to Darksiders 2 after alittle hiatus with FF8 on the Vita. Brilliant game, currently in the 4th dungeon and this one is massive! spent about 2.5 hours in there but its been very entertaining.

I have Battlefiled 3 Premium edition coming tomorrow, i got it for £35 with a code on sainsbury's entertainment, so its a bargain, looking forward to playing that with my new headset!

P.S After 5 months my overtime is over! YAY finally have more time to game

Sleeping Dogs came through the post (finally) yesterday. I don't want to step the Creed though so hopefully can blitz that over the next couple of days in time for starting SD on Sunday.

That is... if the Slenderman doesn't get me :-o

soo was playing Lost oddyssey couple weeks ago, put around 9 hours into it and was enjoying it however I played it again yesterday and thats the last time I will I think....

So I met with these two kids and met their mum, who just happened to be your daughter that you've been having flashbacks about, and she proceeded to die. So the flashbacks seem pointless now, then I had to sit through 45 mins of cutscenes where they are all crying, trying to make you feel emotional about a character that has had 2 mins of screen time. I then had to do pointless errands containing collecting 10 flowers with one character then 10 sticks with another then a few of the simplest QTE's ever.

Add this to the fact that I had just finished work and had to start my second job in one hour, so I basically finished, watched some terrible story cut scenes for 45 mins and then had to go to work again.

Would anyone else give a game another chance after this?!

Posted on 13 Sep 2012 13:31:15 BDT
Maybe give it another try when you've got more than an hour to play it. Perhaps you were rushing a bit which made the cut scenes seem even more annoying.

Also how draining is having a second job and does it affect your main job? I'm thinking of doing a part time evening job to get some more money in.
