Best Graphics for BF3? I suggest you guys look up The Witcher 2 less bloom and lighting flares and just more all around pretty :)

Not saying BF3 doesn't look great it does, but it's certainly not the most technical :P

Agreed the combat is really difficult to get used to and the game will kick you in the nuts repeatidly, but it is an amazing game mostly because of the story telling and atmosphere

It's easily the best RPG I've played in a good few years and the story is fantastic, music outstanding and it's also very challenging

I've never played Uncharted must actually get around to playing sometime... if I ever decide to dust off my PS3 that is

Why Ubisoft as best Publisher and then not have a single Ubisoft game in your list if your don't mind me asking?

Especially all the crap Ubisoft get for their draconian DRM in the guise of UPlay. They have pretty much been seen as the ignorant money grabbing Publisher's of the past few years :P

Seems strange you would choose them but hey each their own

I would give it to THQ because they aren't afraid to take risks with new IP's where most other Pub's have stuck with their tried and tested series... now they are out of business for betting the farm on a piece of crap tablet that no one wanted to begin with.... I hope they hung whoever pitched that idea that ended up crippling the company :*(

I didn't pick them, but Ubisoft have released ambitious projects even at this stage of the generation, and are the only publisher who support new consoles properly.

@Stephen, I put Ubisoft because they have published some pretty awesome games this generation but none of them were quite good enough to make it into my list.

Some examples - Assassin's Creed 2 (was very tempted to put this in, in fact, I might edit!), Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I have to agree that their DRM and UPlay are incredibly irritating but, for me, I can't knock the above games.

I've enjoyed most of Ubi's games - Assassin's Creed series, Prince of Persia, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell etc. - none enough for the individual awards, but they've been pretty consistent. Everyone else I could think of had at least one terrible game in their stable

The games weren't they reason they went broke, they went broke because of a tablet called U-Draw or something that they designed for use with consoles...

So yeah they spent all their money designing a product that no one asked for, no one needed and I still can't find any reason as to why I would use a tablet alongside a console

Also during their first press demo they invited a bunch of graphic artists to come and demostrate it but they never let the artists practise with it first, at the demo they ended up with these really bad drawings because they artists weren't used to the tablet and it didn't work the same as other drawing tablets

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic

THQ have published this gen:

Darksiders 1+2 both great games
Metro 2033 excellent + were working Metro Last Light
Company of Heroes series all excellent
Saints Row series - SR3 was very good and sold amazingly well for them
Warhammer 40K series
Red Faction series
WWE series
Homefront
South Park: Stick of Truth

I mean they had great games in their catalogue

I vote Ubisoft as best dev because they very rarely disappoint, their games may not have been the best in their catagory but almost all have been top notch, look at Farcry 3, it may not have as much story to its island as Skyrim and the gunplay may not be as good as COD or battlefield, but what a cracking game! And Splinter Cell Conviction may not have been quite as good as its predeccessors but the graphics and story were great! Also remember how good RB6 Vegas was? Then they made it even better in Vegas 2!

There are some decent titles in that list but not many up to the standard of Assassins Creed 2, FC3 or Splinter Cell. Most of them are good but not great or future classics. Homefront was pretty poor and South Park: Stick of Truth hasn't even come out yet.

Ubisoft would definitely be my fav publisher this gen because of their consistency.

Posted on 15 Feb 2013 15:33:55 GMT
Differing opinions I guess, I personally have no interest in Assassins Creed nor Splinter Cell

Far Cry 3 I could buy but I didn't enjoy the first two in the series so I'm sceptical

As for not up to the standard, what standard is that? One of the most customisable open world games on the market, one of the biggest critically acclaimed stratedgy games, granted a cult classic in Metro but still excellent and I haven't heard a bad word from anyone who has played Darksiders

You have a point for the others of course but for those four, they are very much up to the standard
