It's near the Empty/Abandoned House on the west side of town, down a short alley opposite.

I ended up in a fight with a Chimera last night that was over is about 3 minutes as mine, Hammies and Teliks pawns all jumped on it and destroyed the snake and Lion parts in seconds. I didn't have to do anything but stand and watch lol!

Started exploring the southern part of the map after my jaunt in the north in which I accomplised 1 escort quest and thats it!

Also can anyone tell me where the Black Cat is is Gran Soren as so far haven't found it and apparently it has some good stuff in it?

Posted on 1 Jun 2012 08:08:22 BDT
Yeah, as I walked past the entrance my Pawn pointed out to me that "this passage links the Southern and Central lands".

What a pr1ck! He could have mentioned it an hour previously when we were setting out from Grand Soren!

Something really cheap happened last night. On my way to the Shadow Fort night fell. I passed an old house full of goblins so I killed them and took shelter. About 10 minutes later the goblins respawned in the house right on top of me and I had to fight them again! Poor form :(

Posted on 1 Jun 2012 08:02:08 BDT
Yeah there's a mine that links the south to the north area, just hug the mountains and head northeast from the shadow fort.
I took your pawn there already, there's a few goblins and 3 ogres to deal with but once they're dead it's easy as they don't respawn.

To be fair Sanchez, my posts are ofter just barely describable as 'English'.

Sanchez says:
Congratulations Nerds, I feel the thread has returned home to its roots - I read each post, I know it's in English, but I understand - nothing lol.

I did the quest to ckear out the Shadow Fort last night which was tough! I had Icarus' and a random's Pawns with me. All the Pawns died - includin my own - but I just made it through.

Inalso didn't know there was a shotcut to the fort so I walked all the way round the southern path to get there!

Telik says:
Great night tonight, got to the max rank with Mystic Knight and killed the Drake near the Shadow Fort! Had the pawns of Stew and Chris with me so your pawns should know more about them. On another note my own pawn may soon be leaving the healer role as she has learned everything in the Mage class and might be upgrading to Sorcerer tomorrow.

I may also change my Arisen to something new too since I have learned all I need from Mystic Knight.

Thanks for the garb Telik, not anywhere near a rest point to use it yet but will get there soon.

Fought my first Drake tonight and did a 10th of a bars worth of damages before it annihilated my in one hit!

Mr Mojito says:
Burty, sounds like you're not too far from having syndicate wrapped up, will try stay awake for tonight's coop.

Greg, definitely looking forward to DS3, not sure how scary it'll be in coop with comms but ill definitely enjoy it.

Just got the RAGE plat, really quite enjoyed it, certainly at the price it wasn't bad.

In reply to an earlier post on 31 May 2012 20:27:03 BDT
It'll be passed round all the Nerds MMM, you'll get it soon and it saves us all having to buy it. ;)

Posted on 31 May 2012 20:23:29 BDT
Can I get the lady garb at some point?

Posted on 31 May 2012 20:06:48 BDT
Cool - I'll pass it over to Telik once I'm done. Cheers bud.

Ewok,

next time you rest your pawn will come back with some ladies garb, once you have got the trophy for equiping it can you pass it onto Telik who i think needs it. i didn't have any other male person on my list i could think of to equip it to :/

i also have chosen a dwarf type of character in DD - he looks like a very short and stout viking :)

In reply to an earlier post on 31 May 2012 17:39:48 BDT
Pfft. Don't try and reduce my Dwarf to numera and statistics. He'a a real person with thoughts and needs. And a really big sword. No double entendre intended.

DaytonaX - myself and Fraz are going to wait for a price drop as well. As well as using expert pawns, there will be a lot of knowledge in the NS thread to refer to...

DaytonaX says:
hey all, have to say I'm following the DD chat here with interest. Telik - interesting those guide items. I'm relatively new to RPGs (last year or so) and haven't come acros those kinds of subtleties before.

If I get this it will probably be after a price drop. Hopefully by the time I finally join in you won't mind me using your rather expert pawns.

Telik says:
Ewok, your size and weight determine a few things in Dragon's Dogma, like your stamina regen rate and the total equipment weight you can carry etc.

This is taken right from the guide;
Weight Classes
Charcters Weight [] Weight Class
Under 50 KG's [] SS
50 - 69 KG's [] S
70 - 89 KG's [] M
90 - 109 KG's [] L
110+ KG's [] LL

Effects of Weight
Weight Class [] Stamina Restoration [] Stamina Comsumption
SS and S [] 1.8x [] 0.5x
M [] 1.0x [] 1.0x
L and LL [] 0.6x [] 2.0

Weight Class [] Movement Speed [] Maximum Encumbrance
SS and S [] 1.15x [] 40 KG's
M [] 1.0x [] 65 KG's
L and LL [] 0.8x [] 100 KG's

Height also affects other things like for instance there are a few chests I have found that my guy can't get as he is not tall enough to jump to the ledge lol. While in the Shadow Fort there are small underground tunnels only the smallest characters can get to, i'm sure there are many more instances like those to be found too

One thing I'm not liking about DD is that I created a 'Dwarf' character based on the template they offered at the beginning, but the Pawns keep saying 'you humans this' and 'you humans that'.

It's really throwing me out of the moment and makes me concerned that maybe I'm not a Dwarf at all, I'm just a short, fat bloke with a beard.

Plus my default run speed is frustratingly slow due to my short stubby legs. I have to sprint everywhere and am constantly running out of puff. And I can't grab human sized enemies properly.

Still, it's all worth it because Dwarves are awesome to the max.

In reply to an earlier post on 31 May 2012 13:38:46 BDT
nice one ewok :)

Posted on 31 May 2012 13:24:25 BDT
I'm behind most of these guys Phil, and it's actually a good thing. I get to hire their high level pawns and they keep me alive, guide me to my destination and tell me the best way to kill monsters. Fricken sweet!

zorton - dark souls....sure we talked about it before i bought it/played it.....

i like the game essentially. i like the setting, the combat, the difficulty, the controls, the game design, the graphics, etc etc....but....i HATE the going back to the last bonfire and losing all your souls stuff. progress is just soooooooo slow! why can't it go back to the last autosave?? i know it' kind of the point of the game, but i don't find this makes the game hard - it just makes it cheap/cheaty. and little things like that are game-breaking for me, (i traded in deus ex HR pretty quick cos even tho i LOVED everything else about the game i hated the control scheme).

from what i'm hearing about dd the actual difficulty of the game is comparable to dark souls - BUT! you can save the game anytime. perfecto :)
