As regards to MGS4's trophy collection, or lack of. I soon forget when immersing myself into the gameplay sections. Trophies would enhance the experience like you say, but it doesn't upset the experience by any means.

MGS4 has some troughs and peaks though. More than say, MGS3 and MGS1 which were consistantly enjoyable. Troughs in MGS4 being those cut-scenes that drag, and for me the multiple, suicide Gekko attack, and those god awful sentry Gekko sections. The peaks, such as sniping, with the silenced, EBR Sniper Rifle in the South America sections. The Metal Gear Rex and Metal Gear Ray mech battle. And Solid Snake vs Liquid, CQC fight before a sealine sunset. Awesome. :-)

Ignore them Grey, they will be gone by Mon.

Grayfox. I've reported the two main offenders. If nothing is done I'll leave the forum and let the nutters take over as clearly that is what Amazon want if they do nothing. I suggest anyone with the relevant amazon compliant email address to report Las bogas and Joe kinear. The more that report the better chance we have of getting rid. The report abuse button does nada except get individual posts deleted.

I've done the same R, if they are not gone by the end of next week then i too will be leaving for good.

I suggest Neogaf if anyone wants a really, really active, up to date gaming forum that doesn't put up with trolls or flaming for a single second.

Gray - these twerps are on perma ignore for me - I will never read a word they say ever. You are not on ignore - as far as I care they can stay or go (though I have also complained), I will never know what they say nor care. Stay and post MGS fan stuff dude and stick these halfwitted bozo's on ignore.

I will not be leaving this forum - not on the back of these halfwits anyway.

When I say leave I mean a break until normal service is resumed. We've beaten trolls in the past - they've been banned lol - and hopefully this will be the case this time too. Just a matter of time but if amazon don't get rid I think a break is in order for me.

Balli says:
I consider myself a positive person, with negativity a pointless waste, ruining the good in things that are basically good. Grayfox, is one of these people too, and his enthusiasm has never been criticised, because we know he's not doing it to troll, but because he has a genuine interest.

"We're not tools of the government, or ANYONE ELSE. Fighting was the only thing... the only thing I was good at. But... at least I always fought for what I believed in."

Dude don't leave, you're the resident MGS expert and a good guy.

Ignore the trolls as said above by people.

Grayfox says:
Thank you for the positive posts lads. It's much appreciated and very kind of you.

I apologise for the hissy fit yesterday, I'm not usually like that, think I was having a bad day or something. I should follow my own advice and ignore the trolls at all times. I checked an ignored post and reacted.

I will have Joe, Las Bogas and Crixus on permanent ignore from now on. I don't know if what Joe said about Wayne is true, but i'll take with a pinch of salt for now.

Thank you Nessy, 'R', Robson, Balli, Matthew. Btw, I may be the MGS expert, but Balli is the MGS guru. ;-)

I will recharge and reboot for next week. Hopefully the trolls will be banned by then.

And I am the MGS3 noob!

Ploughing through now - The Sorrow was just great and Volgin / Shagohod was an amazing roller coaster ride of gaming. I love every bit of the cutscenes in this - the way Ocelot is portrayed with various twisted motives and right now I don't what to make of Tanya or Big Boss. The pacing of the game is about as good as I have ever played and ranks alongside Resi 4 for me personally as a game that is just excelent every step.

Brilliant stuff.

Matthew says:
Speaking of The Sorrow, on one of my playthroughs I did the steathy kill everyone route, well most people and ended up with a long walk through the river lol

This has to be one of the most unique twists in a game though, can't remember any game in recent memory that forces you to walk past the ghosts of people you've killed.

Here we go Gray: http://n4g.com/news/995637/kojima-productions-teasing-big-things-for-e3-next-month

"Kojima Productions has big plans for E3 this year, with the latest Kojima Productions Report podcast confirming that fans of the studio have "a lot to really look forward to" at the conference in June.

KP report hosts Sean Eyestone and Kendoza spoke about how the studio is very much working towards E3, with a lot of "big things" in place for next month's showcase.

Additionally, the podcast discusses about the mysterious Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance teasers that have doing the rounds online of late, reassuring fans that even if everything seems a bit strange, weird and cryptic at the moment, it will all make sense and come together in the end. We can also expect some answers relating to the cryptic Revengeance teasers in the run up and before E3.

The remainder of the podcast, among other things, talks about Hideo Kojima's ongoing European 25th Anniversary Metal Gear tour, and answers random Metal Gear/KP questions/comments from fans as per the podcast norm. Most of these comments relate to Revengeance."

You just never know Ness - you just never know...

OK that is MGS3 done - stone cold fantastic imo - wonderful great game. MGS4 being fired up - been a while since I played it but so far so good -- the trucks are rolling in on the opening desert sequence and the "war has changed" bit is kicking in...

In reply to an earlier post on 12 May 2012 02:12:17 BDT
Nessy says:
Kojima hates Nintendo with a passion, there is more chance of GTA V being a Wii U exclusive than MGS 5 even appearing on Wii U :-P.

Some interesting, and funny posts there. :-)

There's no MGS3 Noobs here Robson. I say I am a MGS expert, with tongue firmly, in cheek. I'm familiar with weapons, and gameplay tactics on the main MGS games. Bally can pick out quotes, and story explanations out of thin air, seemingly. Although he seems to have thrown in a Jeremy Springer quote this time. ;-)

Let me know your thoughts on your MGS4 playthrough Robson. And thanks for the link. I shall take a look at that later.

Agreed Matthew, and I need to do my MGS3 playthrough, without killing anyone, for the 'Peace Walker' gold trophy. I will start that soon. DG_O has already done that trophy, I do believe. The Sorrow is clever. It's almost a punishment for killing so many soldiers in a way, with it's longevity. Great idea, implemented very well. A crazy idea by Kojima, that is actually genius in some ways.

Nessy's posts made me laugh, but Kojima's Fox engine will be multi-platform, so who knows. ;-)

Well I am not an MGS noob now having finally played the game!

MGS4: played up to meeting up with Meryl now - really liking it - the cut scenes are just not as good as MGS3 and Dreibin is not a great character - however so far the action is great and the cut scenes somewhere between tolerable and entertaining. The transition from some cut scenes to action are superb (from Meryl to escaping the house) and the dense plot of soldiers monitered and potentially controlled via technology and Liquid's intentions is a good one; all played out against Snakes ageing condition.

Going through the painful process of loading up MGS online too - just to play a round or two afore the servers go...

Update on MGS Online:
Started game at 11.45 - after an initial menu was told to update to version 1.36 - I chose to do so by the server (not peer to peer) - at 12.15 27% of the way there!

Have you been registered with Metal Gear online before-hand then Robson? I gave up waiting to download the thing last year.

I was actually thinking about starting a new thread, as the 'Rising' part of the title was done before it was changed to 'Rising Revengeance'. A new thread may be good to correspond with E3 news on Metal Gear Solid 5 also?
