PSP3000 all the way.

You'll literally be shooting yourself in the foot with a Go.

To be honest, IF you have the money, buy a vita. you can play most psp games, but it also has some fantastic titles and is future proof.

Well they don't manufacture PSPGo's anymore so that'll be one thing.

PSP gos can only buy games off of the PSN store, which are more expensive then buying them physically and a smaller selection, so get a PSP-3000, or if you can, a vita

FYI it is a proper upgrade. it has uncharted, and a great game called gravity rush. it also has a touch screen, and dual analogue sticks. i could not recommend more, im even posting from it at this moment!

I've noticed that and it's really. Can a 8 y/o child play that well you think? I'm just worried that it might be very technical.

The device itself is quite big, and maybe a tad delicate for a younger child (expensive too). Perhaps the Nintendo 3DS Handheld Console - Aqua Blue would be a better option? More child friendly.

3DS looks very nice and there are educational games. Fantastic!

Happy to help.

Also, nice review of those Jonnies you've wrote there. Perhaps your nephew will be happier with your 13"er?

Don't get him educational games ;) If he's 8, a 3DS would be better. Suggestions:

Super Mario 3d Land
Mario Kart 7
Ocarina of Time 3D
Starfox 3D
Kid Icarus Uprising
Mario Tennis 3DS

All of those are brilliant games with good reviews and will keep him occupied for months.

i wouldn't get a vita for an 8 yr old as there isn't that many kids type of games for the psp or the vita - but it is a fantastic handheld for adults

3DS is a good choice especially since there are tons of DS games that are compatible.
