Which is the best Borderlands DLC?

Hello all,

I've got right back into Borderlands and I am considering getting a DLC pack. However, they're £6.30 each on steam so I can only justify getting one. The options are; "Claptrap's Robot Revolution", "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx", "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" or "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned".

I'm nearly at level 50 so perhaps General Knoxx's DLC will be the best since it raises the cap to 61. What do you guys think? Which was you're favourite?

Cheers,
Mike

Mike, the GOTY versions (which includes all the DLC) is only £12 on zavvi.com at the moment!
Might be worth it if you want to eventually play all the DLC. Means you can sell your copy as well.

Cheers Astro :) I take it Moxxi is pretty bad.

Zorton, thanks for that, may have a look into it. Sadly my game is on steam so I can't sell it, but nevertheless certainly a viable option.

The best thing about the Moxxi DLC is the fact that you can use it store weapons you don't want to carry around in your inventory.

Moxxi is a poxxi on the good name of Knoxxi. Avoid.

Zombie Ned for me, followed by Knoxx.

"Moxxi is a poxxi"

Anyone else read that in a Super Mario style?

Seems like a lot of money just to store your weapons!

I'd say Knoxx>Ned>Claptrap>Moxxi But Moxxi isnt as bad as people make out, its just too expensive for what you get, its just an arena mode, should be £4 and the others £6.30

Ned island is the standard zombie fare and a good way of getting xp early on in the game if not completed much of the main mission

Moxxi is and overlong relentless arcadey bit. Even if you use modded weapons/sheilds (which is very tempted given the level of challenge) it takes well over an hour to complete each challenge, and there's no save/checkpoint. Nor do you get any xp other than for completing the first 3 arenas. Only worth it if you want 100% trophies (not needed for PS3 plat btw)

Knoxx is the most challenging in terms of needing to be at at least level 35 to attempt it. But due to the tough enemies you can get tons of xp meaning you'll get the Ding! overlevelled acheivement/trophy really quickly

The robot revolution is pretty good too. Listen out for a big nod to 2K's other big game Bioshock (I won't spoil it but it's some funny dialogue)

But as said, forget buying DLC online just buy or even borrow GOTY

Mike, As Astro said Moxxie is a bit of a turkey.

If your level 50 zombie island will be too easy for you, its designed to be played upon finishing the main game at around level 35-40. I did it at 50 and it was too easy, redid it on xbox at the right level and it was good.
General Knoxx is good and I persoanlly really rate the claptrap revolution too.

The Zombie island was the first DLC and can actually be played not halfway throught the main campaign. Point of fact I was halfway through Zombies Island before taking on Sledge, making him much easier. Also the zombies do not go beyond level 45 regardless of your stats so would get easier the better you are. All the other DLC missions pretty much match your own character level. As a rule you need to be at least level 15 to start the DLC with the exception of General Knox, which requires at least level 35.

Oh and I should add that all the DLC are installed from the GOTY disk. So you could probably borrow it, download all the extras, return to the standard disk AND STILL HAVE ALL THE EXTRAS
Cheaper still

if your game is on steam how many people play the multiplayer still? im looking to get it before Borderlands 2

There appear to be lots of people playing online. I don't think it uses steam to play online as it requires you to log onto GameSpy. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I may see if I can borrow the PC GOTY. Anyone know if it will be compatible with the steam installation?

Good place to ask mike is on the steam forums on the Borderlands thread, people on there will have asked if the dlc is compatible with the steam version and so on.
