Hi,
Could someone please give me an idea what games there will be in this collection? Thanks

Nick. says:
It contains Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. In honesty, your much better off finding this kind of information on google.

Nick. says:
I'm fine Bauer! It just annoys me slightly that people don't ask in relevant thread, and then if they don't get an answer ask here; or just Google it like I did. I might be sounding a bit harsh, as people are new to the Forum at times.

inc VR missions, Snake Tales etc.
Metal Gear Solid 3

No MGS Peace Walker unfortunately.

Agreed Nic. But it's all good. ;)

You sure about MGS1?

In reply to an earlier post on 17 Jun 2012 18:01:35 BDT
It's Metal Gear that comes with the subsistence version of Snake Eater. I wish it did have MGS1.

Hubbard says:
Ah read that wrong.

It's cool it's the subsistance versions. Always wanted to buy it for the original MG's but MGS3 subsistance costs a fortune now.

I didn't know Metal Gear 1&2 came with substance, so I have them on the Ps3 version ???? Sweet !

Metal Gear 1 & 2 come with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Which is what's on the HD version Gaz. Substance is MGS2 HD.

They are all on the PlayStation 3/360 versions aswell.

Sweet, what where these originally released on GF ? I'd never heard of Metal Gear until MGS1

Solar Fox says:
Metal Gear 1 & 2 were originally only released in Japan. It was only when MGS3 Subsistence was released in the uk, on PlayStation 2, that we could play those titles.

The formats escape me.

"I feel asleep"

Nice reference to the Jap to English translation issues that plagued 80's video games.

Metal Gear 1 & 2 were victims of this too.

Hubbard says:
MG1 was on Nintendo too. Though apparently it was an awful port that added action scenes.

Had an 'unofficial' sequel too.

no Twin Snakes on the Game Cube was actually a really good port, the MGS2 style graphics worked great ... BUT The the cutscenes where ridiculous, Snake round house kicks a rocket out the air at one point !

Posted on 18 Jun 2012 11:28:22 BDT
This and not the original voice actors is why MGS1 is so much better than Twin snakes.

Solar Fox says:
Agreed.

I've always said MGS1 is better than Twin Snakes overall. MGS1 is true to Kojima's work. It's the MGS that kick started the stealth genre in video games.

Twin Snakes tried to be better, but as a general opinion, it seemed to have lost the MGS charm. But still the nearest to a MGS1 makeover we may ever get, and still sought after by the MGS collectors out there.

Hubbard says:
I mean't Metal Gear 1 was on Nintendo, not the MGS1 lol.

Talk about a series with easy names...

Solar Fox says:
Ah ha. Blame Bauer for that Hubbard. ;)

The unofficial sequel was 'Snake's Revenge'. Kojima had nothing to do with it.

Hubbard says:
I noticed in Twin Snakes that they changed lines too. I've played MGS near enough yearly so a few of the changes really stuck out. I can't believe they killed the atmosphere in this scene...
