If only Max was around. He'd convince you. I wonder if he's the one person who tracks this discussion.

well GoT has finished, (epically brilliant and brutal. can't wait for series 4!) touch has finished, (crap - but i had to see it through lol), banshee has one more episode left, (brilliant brilliant show and looks to be building to a massive climax)....vegas is still going strong, (no nonsense sheriff vs the mob in 60's vegas. love it) and revolution is still going, (it's getting a bit boring now tbh, but it's like touch - i've watched up to now so i have to see it through. plus it has flashes of brilliance. sometimes lol)

dexter season 8 soon! true blood season 6 soon....meh. i'll watch it with the missus tho lol :)

Yeah can't wait for new Dexter, Season 8 is supposed to be the final season but I'm reading rumors that season 9 could happen but nothing's been confirmed.

It Premieres in USA this Sunday 30th June, UK will show it just one week later, can I be patient enough to be one week behind?

Probably not ;)

I need to find a TV show to watch with the missus here's the criteria if anyone can recommend one(doesn't have to be current, quite happy to buy a boxed set and probably would prefer that so we can watch it when it suits us).

- Nothing sci-fi, fantasy etc. despite my love of things like Fringe, GoT, Battlestar Galactica, etc she hates anything like that.

- Nothing too 'manly'. Tried her with Sons Of Anarchy and that was a no go and she'd laugh in my face if I introduced her to Arrow :(

- I hate American 'Comedy'. Third Rock, Everybody Loves Raymond, etc can rot in hell.

- I've managed to get her into 'The Following' and she likes that and I suspect she'd like Dexter as well.

Yes, she is a fussy cow and our interests do seem to be completel opposites when it comes to TV so a Gold Star to anyone who can recommend something we both like!

Andy, have you tried Castle or The Mentalist? My favourite show is Supernatural which your girlfriend will love, they always do. How about Breaking Bad? True Blood?

Dexter starts this weekend? It normally starts far later than that! One of the best shows ever made. If there are rumours for a season 9 I assume they have an alternative ending filmed and decide on viewer feedback.

I just finished watching Season 5 of True Blood, a show i've always been 'meh' about but that was the best season so far. I have seen the first two episodes of season 6 and that's pretty good too, runs straight from the end of season 5.

I'm not a fan of American comedy shows but Two and a Half Men is the exception (the Charlie Sheen days) not so good now with Ashton Crutchboy. This is if it's not too 'manly' for your Mrs.

The Mrs loves shows like NCIS and CSI, maybe something like that?

andy - (if you've not already seen it) buy the soprano's box set.

wrt true blood - i thought series 5 was by far the worst so far.....each to their own i guess. series 1 & 3 of true blood were excellent, but all the others have been dross....imo :) the missus loves it tho, so we watch it together

another one we watch together is 'once upon a time' on channel 5. it's concept is that all fairy tales, and some disney stuff like hook, pinnochio, mulan, etc are actually real, but all the characters get cursed to forget who they are, and have been living out their lives as normal people in small town america, but then the curse gets broken and they get their memories back....which sounds as rubbish as you like! but it's got a really likable cast and weaves it's plot around brilliantly. we both really like it :)

it's also got a few cross-overs with LOST, with cast members, some of the themes, quite a few LOST easter eggs :)

I do keep meaning to give Castle try so may get my hands on that and see if I can tempt her.

Aye Castle is great. You'll both have a crush on Nathon Fillion. The cast of characters is perfect and the on screen relationships are flawless. Particularly between Castle and Becket.

If you have ever enjoyed Goodfellas, The Godfather, Scarface, Casino, Carlitos Way and you have never watched Sopranos you need to immediately !.

Currently 6 episodes through Season 3 of The Walking Dead, S3 is so, so much better than S2 imo and a return to the greatness of S1.

I finished S7 of Dexter a month or so ago, I hope they don't make a S9 tbh it's run it's course now imo, was looking forward to it all coming to a conclusion with S8.

I'm currently rewatching The Sopranos. I've just finished Season 1. It's probably my favorite show of all time.

Phil I'd thought I'd let you know Vegas was cancelled, so ain't going that strong lol I can't think why as it's awesome, was really enjoying seeing Michael Chiklis back on screen as The Shield is my favorite tv show, Dennis Quaid was great too.

I'm really enjoying Hannibal at the moment, some really grisly murders and weird moments.

Justified is great too, anyone watch this?

***Banshee spoilers***

I was flicking channels one night and stopped at this, saw some dude get beaten to death with a weight plate, is it always this brutal? If so think I'll have to preorder it.

Is banshee always this brutal? Yes. If not more so. It's awesome :)

I had a feeling Vegas would get cancelled after 1 season. I agree it's brilliant so it's a real shame, but at least it has been a nice long season.

I started watching it but had to give up because I just find Timothy Elephant to be a terrible, terrible actor.

It's a good show but I can't help but think it would be ten times better with somoene other than him.

Bit of a back from the dead resurrection for this thread.

With the usual suspects all returning in the next few weeks like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead and some shows having already started like season 2 of The Following, which shows do people have on their radar?

For me the aforementioned Walking Dead, GoT and The Following are the three i'm most interested in but will also probably watch the new series of Continuum and i'm also thinking of catching up on Revolution which I've heard a lot about.

For new shows it seems there's a huge amount to choose from this year like Josh Holloway in Intelligence, The Red Road, Salem, Crossbones(John Malkovitch as Blackbeard the Pirate, how can this be anything other than awesome?), Black Sails, Vikings, The 100, Crisis, Helix, Resurrection, The Strain and Penny Dreadful

Walking Dead started again last night. Hooray. I despise mid season breaks.

True Detective is very good too (McConnaghey and Harrelson).

Also, cannot wait for Vikings Season 2 end of this month.

Hell on Wheels returns this summer too.

Can't have to many dark tv shows to watch. can't be doing with these soap operas lol and housewife's of who the f*** cares.

Salem and The Strain are the two main ones i'm interested in so far but i'll also definitely be watching Crossbones... I daresay Malkovitch's Blackbeard will be somewhat different to the last pirate I saw on TV which was Eddie Izard as Long John Silver!
