I think we can be pretty certain they will announce the PS4 on the 20th. No need to wait for Microsoft to go first as the specs for both machines have already been widely leaked. I am excited to see what the PS4 will be like even though I am unlikely to buy it at launch (really does depend on the price though)

if they have any brains they will leave it till later and go second and best which is what they have always said.

Anyone remember the boomeramg controller - that was announced and everything before being "withdrawn"

DJ-Cyphon says:
That is true.. But it still reminds me of the "leaked" PS3 controllers which all ended up being fake.. :P

Nick says:
It is a prototype, it needs to be functional, but nothing more. It doesn't matter what it looks like... consumers will never get their hands on it:P.

I think it looks ok. Almost certainly not the final design, but looks chunky/weighty. Looks like it'd feel good in the hands

DJ-Cyphon says:
The 'new' prototype controller looks extremely fake in my opinion.. Granted it's suppose to be a prototype but even so, it shouldnt look like theyve paid a blind child 5 pounds to make it..

On a side note, ive never understood why people dont like the sticks at the bottom... Id rather pick the duelshock over the 360 controller any day of the week. :P

Thanking you kindly, that second one worked :)

A Portal Gun says:
It's probably a PS4 Devkit, the controller is also most likely a prototype the devs have been given to test their new games.

Only five days now and we will know for sure.

It's a picture so I can't C&P I'm afraid... I have added a direct link to it, but don't know if your filter will block that as well?

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Feb 2013 13:26:57 GMT
Work filters over here hombre, any chance of a c+p Adam?

Edit: for those that can't access gaming sites -

The same thing has been reported quite extensively online - it's been confirmed that the pictures are real, but the device pictured is a prototype. So there's still a chance that they'll switch the d-pad and left analog stick around into the correct positions...

From the Huffington Post (I have no idea if that is a reliable site?! for you to decide I guess)
An early prototype of the new Sony PlayStation 4 controller has leaked online.

The controller is very similar to the existing DualShock gamepad, but features a new touch-pad similar to that seen on the back of the handheld PS Vita device.

The controller also features new analog sticks and remodelled shoulder buttons.************

Good news on the new sticks! I've knacered 3 Left Sticks in the past two years! The current ones are pretty flimsy.

For those who can view it

I think the fact that its all on one that is appealing. I ony played RUSE with the move controller and it was pretty good. Never bothered forking out for it myself though.

If we get it as standard it may have its uses.

Sixaxis was indeed horribly.

You reckon Dave, that makes me think saxxis, saxxis was horrible. Maybe a touch pad on the back a-la the vita?

Maybe it's time to bring my 60Gb PS3 phat out of retirement and flog the 320Gb slim before the price bottoms out...?

Whatever Michael Pachter says about the new console will be a load of tosh as usual, but i hope it will be a nice replacement for my ps3.

Dualshock with intergrated move would be nice. Probably set the price of a new dualshock at £60 on its own though.

My real interest is in the games we see. Its no secret that the majority of Sony's studios have been quiet over the past year or so beavering away on projects.

Killzone 4 is highly likely.
