You tried holding down the power button for xx seconds till it turns itself off or reboots.

In reply to an earlier post on 23 Feb 2012 12:12:59 GMT

Its a shame the PSV is let down by its buggy OS, for me it was fine for a couple of hours and then after playing the Unit 13 demo the sound disappeared and powering it off it froze. Doing the 30s power hold didn't work for me so I had to let it discharge overnight. Really unimpressed by that, returned for a refund.

MWS says:
It's not the OS, it's the Unit 13 demo itself, it was actually taken down from the store today because some people have had these freezes/audio losses and they are trying to fix them. You;ve basically returned a product because of a buggy demo then?

I agree with Lee and Meses. Returning a console for a refund because a Demo has screwed up your console seems stupid. I would have asked for a replacement console but that's me.

Zero points for not taking notice of the fact the Demo was removed from the PSN Store.

"Numpty could not agree more meses, you returned the best handheld ever made because of a bad demo?"

He never mentioned having a DS.

Anyways having shelled out a ridiculous amount of money day one on a handheld by a company whose previous handheld attempts inspired apathy and this gen of consoles reliability issues I can fully understand someone returning it day one.

I am not bothered to be honest, the PSV was beginning to bore me, also its not 'just' Unit 13 Demo, a lot of users are experiencing weird bugs with anything ranging from playing Uncharted to WiFi connection freezes. 1 user kindly posted you have to hold the power button down for 90-120 seconds for hard reset, a little long ;p At least I got to see what the hype was about and no I don't own a 3DS, tried it but the 3D effect fried my eyes.

Anyhow I hope you guys enjoy it and have fun playing with it.

I dont own a Vita yet, but i think the biggest problem is the remote play. The fact that you cannot play ps3 games on the Vita (as advertised by Sony - showing Killzone 3) currently, is pretty shocking to be honest. Apparently the only way you can do it is if you have CFW on your PS3 - does this mean Sony had a hacked PS3 when showing the video of it working ?

@billy They never said that it would be available at launch; or ever. They said it was a tech demo :P
@Rennie, fair enough, it's all down to opinion. I have loads of games that I feel are worthwhile and am loving the device!

I've purchased a psp vita wi-fi + 3G connectivity knowing that a wi-fi signal is very poor where i live. when i try to purchase games from psp store. It states i need a wi-fi connection to do this. I imagined i could use a 3G instead. Any advice please

Nick says:
There is a download limit; which is why you can't do it. It's stupid; but with the file sizes of games, I can understand it.

If you can get access to a library you may be able to use their Wifi. Most coffee shops have Wifi too nowadays. Keep an eye out for any Wifi spots you can use for free.

Thanks for your advice, the only local advertised hotspot is Mcdonalds but we have a local library and i believe the recently opened Tesco is a Wi-fi hotspot. I will try these.

Lol dave ninja i will pretend that is a joke after playing vita you could not say anything else is near it, reliability? as in what?

I have never had any problems with any product i have purchased from sony, i think people have but not anywhere near as much as microsoft and if you are bored of a console after 2-3 days then something is wrong or you obviously did not really want it in the first place.
