Hunter says:
I'm almost positive I posted this before but here's a second attempt.

Hey guys, sorry we're a bit late to market this week with our content update, but hopefully you'll feel as though it's worth waiting for and very much in keeping with the quality you've come to expect this year. It's always a good feeling to give away content in a single month that more than covers the cost of the annual subscription.

So by now, if you've headed over to the SCEA update you will see they're getting Shift 2: Unleashed and Shank 2 in their update this month, courtesy of the lovely folks at EA. Here, it's no different, as EA's 145 car, 36 track monster of a racing title is now yours at no cost, alongside the ultra-violent and ultra-awesome grindhouse 2D platform-brawler.

Don't forget there are a huge number of additional cars and a couple of extremely useful time-saver packs available for Shift 2: Unleashed, all available from the PlayStation Store.

The PS one Classic this month is Silent Hill, which I'm sure you'll agree is a proper classic title - never before has radio static been so terrifying. Unfortunately you'll have to wait just one more short week until it's available (sorry!) but it will be available into the start of May's publish to make up for the lost week.

This week we have two brand-new minis for your entertainment, `Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims', in which you'll float and shoot your way through seven beautifully drawn worlds to save your followers and `Golf Mania', offering 90 holes of single and multiplayer golfing challenges from traditional courses to gravity defying glass towers.

I Am Alive comes to PS3 with a 20% discount for all you faithful Plus users, and Wheels of Destruction will also be available at a discount for the two weeks after launch.

New themes, lots of avatars which include a set of exclusive avatars developed by SCEA and an avatar pack from the PS VITA favourite, Escape Plan for you guys too.

Later in the month we give you the chance to blast some more zombies with a launch discount on SEGA's House of the Dead 4 (with additional freebies) and we bring a bit of culture and refinement to Plus with a launch discount on the absolutely gorgeous (and inexpensive) Pure Chess - we're even throwing in a free piece of DLC for the game that has been described as `the Gran Turismo of chess'. How about that?

Alright, enjoy your racing and/or revenge killings. See you in the comments.

Trigger says:
Pretty good update; I enjoyed Shift 1 so I'll play the second even though it's not meant to be as good, and I was thinking about buying Shank 2 a few weeks back anyway so I'll definitely have some of that.

Also appreciate the discount for I Am Alive - hopefully there's a demo, but for £6.40 I'll be picking it up I think. Will also be getting House of the Dead 4 later in the month, as HotDIII is brilliant in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way.

Shank 2 is a definite for me, the demo was better than the first game!! Just got Darksiders from last week, and not sure about Shift 2. I'm slowly running out of HDD space!!
I am alive intrigues me, so i'll get that too. :)

Trigger says:
Darksiders is a great game, although IMO it dragged on a little in the final third or quarter. I believe it's quite an attainable Plat but you'll need to play it on Hard (some of the enemies really soak up damage so remember to keep dodging) and during that winged beast section you get fairly early on, there's a trophy which can only be earned there, so if you miss it reload-your manual save and try again. It's when you're on your way to find Tiamat.

Anyway, it's a solid 8/10 and I would definitely recommend it to fans of the action-adventure genre for £6.30. It's a shame that the demo's not available any more.

So awesome the first Silent Hill will be free I've never played it :D

Not overly impressed by this update to be honest... partly because I bought Shank 2 when it came out. Hoping there's some decent discounts due later in the month.

We might not get the GR:FS Beta over here :(

Posted on 2 Apr 2012 16:53:23 BDT
Shhh, don't let Bauer find that out!

Sony have released a list of games being added to this weeks Spring Sale update - unfortunately I can't C&P the list + sale prices due to the way it's formatted on the blog. The games include Akimi Village, Payday, Rochard, Sideway, Plants vs Zombies, RDR and DC universe subscriptions, to name a few.

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 11:04:22 BDT
Anybody tried Payday? really tempted

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 11:04:53 BDT
is darksiders on offer all month or just for a week or two?

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 11:07:26 BDT
Mr K says:
I have payday. Bought it when released, sounded like a good game but never got round to playing it yet. I've heard it's great if you play with mates as it requires teamwork.
Sorry Chris, but that doesn't help!!

I think the Darksiders offer will end later today Si - I think the current sale content will be replaced with the new sale content when the store updates.

If I'm wrong, then the spring sale ends next Wednesday, so you would have until then to get it.

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 11:11:11 BDT
Chris, i have it. I've played it once (on my own) and its worth the money. you can play with up to 3 mates and it improves it as you can split up and cover more ground quicker.

Mr K says:
@Taz, give me a shout if you ever fancy playing Payday. We could team up. Should be a laugh..

Trigger says:
Payday is a great game. I really ought to go back and play it more; might be perfect for the PS3 gaming nights or whatever. If it's up for £6 or whatever, it's well worth it.

I might give Sideway another shot - thought it was a clever game with some good ideas, but I didn't really like the style in the demo.

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 12:03:17 BDT
Will do kez.

Tel, what is sideway? not seen it.

Posted on 4 Apr 2012 12:07:52 BDT
Sideway is a 2D platformer with a graffiti-like art style.

oh i know it...thanks Adam

ShotoTiggs says:
Darksiders also has a trophy for taking out a helicopter with a car during the apocalypse if I remember rightly. You can only do that one in the opening minutes of the game.

In reply to an earlier post on 4 Apr 2012 15:17:04 BDT
That must be one of the coolest trophies ever, though the best name for a trophy is on The Saboteur: "Pint and a Shag" ;)

R - Dual says:
Played a little of Shank 2. Want to like it but it's got horrendous difficulty spikes. And I'm not the biggest fan of combos. Graphical art style is superb. Need to play the online mode as it could be fun.

When does Silent Hill become available? Couldnt see it in the PS+ store this morning

In reply to an earlier post on 5 Apr 2012 09:31:32 BDT
Trigger says:
Good point; I didn't see it there either. Totally forgot TBH; was too busy DLing Shift 2, Shank 2, and I also bought GripShift. Only played a few levels, but didn't think much of it. Yet.
