Hello everybody.
I'm having real problems with my above console. When playing PS1 games downloaded from PSN store its coming up with do you wish to quit the game automatically. I've had the console for 4 years now. Do I take it to my local cash converters store who are quite happy to take it from me and use the funds to buy an up to date psp? Or can anybody help me with the above screen message?

Replies please.

Try format the card, delete all user data etc and start again. Clearly back up your stuff first.

Update the firmware too possibly?

I'm discussed the matter with my dad and I've decided to take it to cash converters to get some funds for a more up to date version. Any ideas on what version I should get?

Just don't get the psp go.

Apart from the PSP Go does anybody recommend the 3000 version?

Posted on 5 Sep 2010 15:57:10 BDT
Yeah, it's the latest version that still uses the discs. I've got one and it's pretty good I suppose but I'm not really a portable gamer and I've not used the previous versions.

I've had all three (Not counting Go) and PSP 3000 was the best, in my opinion. Not much between the two Slims, though.

First of all I would like to thank people for the replies to this topic. My mind is now made up. After my week vacations I will be taking my old PSP into my local Cash Converters store to trade in for cash then going to my local Game Store and buying the PSP 3000 version. I dont know what colour to choose yet though.

But thanks again for the replies.

It always looks snazzy in black. I've had a red one, too, which looks a bit more pink, but that may be to your liking.

alternatively you could wait until the new God of War bundle comes out and just get that one.

Not sure if you're a GoW fan though ;)

Don't take it to cash converters- they'll only offer you about £10 for it! Seriously, i was in there once and this couple had a stack of xbox games and they offered them 40p for each game. They then sell those games on for £5-10, which makes the whole thing a joke. Have you considered selling it on ebay as spares and repairs? I've seen some on there go for about £20-25. May not be much but a better deal than cash converters.
As for a colour, have you considered the pearl white edition? I bought a psp mainly to play kingdom hearts birth by sleep, and i wasn't sure what colour i wanted. At the time on HMV they had a dissidia bundle on there for £120 (sadly it's gone now) and if i'm honest, the photo on the box doesn't do the console justice. It's really pretty and has a slight sparkle to it when it's in the right light (Dissidia was pretty good too). Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

psp 3000 is on argos at 115 quid at the mo, how much are cash converters offering for an old 1000 then? as i tried selling my 2000 which was totally mint with 2 games and accessories after only having it 6 weeks and couldnt even get 50 quid for it on ebay so decided to keep it

Hello again
The manager at my local Cash Converters store said via E Mail that they would see what they could offer me. Hopefully they will offer me a good price because the funds are going to be used to buy the 3000 version. But not until after my vacations. It will be 2nd October when the trade in for cash and the purchase of the 3000 is done. The 3000 version will be purchased at my local Game store, no where else, because I'm very well known at my local Game store by both the Manager and Depaty Manager. I also have a reward card for there and saving up my points to use the price discount on my 3000 too.

In addition to my post above. I'm thinking about giving up my disk games too to get the PSP Go. Does anybody recommend this?

No, no one recommends this. Just tell me again what advice you actually wanted?

i prefer downloaded games on my psp fat using a 16gb memory card. however there are classic games not available for download available for umd (crisis core is the main omission!). the controls are also more cramped on the pspGO and the download games are more expensive than umd versions. i reckon the psp 3000 is the best version, although the psp 2 is rumoured to be due in the next couple of years (or the next 10, knowing sony)

btw valkyria chronicles 2 is the best psp game (imo), although i am really looking forward to kingdom hearts!

Also apparently Kingdom Hearts is gonna be UMD only. Man thats upset em in Japan. The PSP 3000 is selling like 200,000 a month ish, the PSP Go is selling around 3,000.

Ok Ok my mind is made up. The PSP 3000 version is what I'm getting. I will keep my disk games and my current memory card and just give up the console and current charger. They are going to Cash Converters on Saturday 2 October. They do not need the box but I'm not sure about the manual. I waiting for replies to my e mails to the store manager about the manual. To use my current memory card with my new console will I need to clear it before inserting it into my new console or just put it in and it will read it straight away?

Replies to that now please.

As long as you deactivate the account from your old PSP and then activate on your new PSP it should work fine.

What do you reckon folks do I do my trade in and new purchase before vacations or after?

sooner the better if you want the best price, but it wont be a lot either way, although i dont really think you listen to anyones advice

In reply to an earlier post on 5 Sep 2010 20:31:25 BDT
I am listening to advice, but dont you think its up to me what I do with my console?

P. sims says:
of course, it just sounds like you already made your mind up before you asked for advice, why do yourself out of more money then you have to, just to prove yourself loyal to a profiteering company who only care about the money you give them?

Posted on 5 Sep 2010 21:06:20 BDT
Sorry about that folks. I should have waited before making my mind up. Anyway never mind its made up now. 2nd October and no sooner for trade in and new purchase.
