Following on from my cheap 360 thread :P Now that I have the 360 I am looking at cheap games (around 5) that I have missed out on due to having a ps3.

These are the ones I can think of:
Forza 2
Fable 2
Halo 3
Gears Of War
EDIT: Crackdown

Any other good games for around 5? Bought Project Gotham racing 3 for 2.50 yesterday, they gave me the pgr4 disc though :o :)

For me, Metro was an awful experience, ammo being so scarce and each mutant taking a whole clip to kill was ridiculous and I quickly ended up getting tired of glitches and bugs. Amazing concept, poorly executed with clumsy controls/game mechanics.

Still to play Alan Wake and Mass Effect :P, 2nd mass effect was amazing though, loved it every bit, except for the resource mining.

Bought Kane & Lynch Limited Edition Pre-owned for 5 the other day. Okay it may only be second hand but it's still a good price and the game so far (I'm on the bit just after the nightclub) isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

You can pick up Just Cause for around a fiver on ebay, which is a pretty decent game.

I also hated Metro 2033. Terrible mixed up controls, not enough ammo making it extremely difficult, etc. Gave up on it after 4/5 hours. 100% recommend Alan Wake too if you have a bit more money to spend!

Gears of War is 2.99 (preowned) on the GAME site. It's sequel is only 2 quid more as well. I also recently got Prey for 2 preowned on the Gamestation website.

The Movies is 5 at GAME if you can find a copy and it's expansion pack is 98p. Be warned though you need the original game to play the expansion.

Let's use this as a general bargains topic.

Split/Second is currently 18 at HMV, on PS360. I'm really tempted...

NotStan - there is no planet mining in Mass Effect 1, instead you can pick up resources in Mako missions which basically involves driving a giant Land Rover over a load of planets that look identical to find items of interest on your radar which you then discover you can't get into because you haven't levelled up enough. Believe me, the planet mining isn't as frustrating. Brilliant game though, and playing it will definitely enhance your enjoyment of ME2 as well.

I saw Tomb Raider Underworld for 4.99 at GameStation for PS3/XBOX360. For that price its actually worth a go.

16 for SC:C at Coolshop.
And if you have no taste, Prison Break has remarkedly dropped in price to just under a tenner at Zavvi.

Quite a good idea to have a bargain thread TBH...Especially to help those who are not addicted to Hotukdeals ;)

Not a cheap game but a cheap package heads-up.

All Super Elite 360 bundles (Elite 250GB + game) are being reduced to 159.99 this afternoon on GAME/Gamestation, which blows the socks off of the Slim's price in my opinion. I'm actually tempted and I've never considered getting a 360. Game included is either FF XIII, Forza 3 or Modern Warfare 2.

If you like platforming and have lots of patience try Mirror's Edge. Really simple looking and it takes a while to get used to but if you get into it it's really good. I hated it at first but changed my mind and now I play it every now and again. The story is really short but all the time trials beef it up. in most places you'll probably get it for 5ish.

Online only at this stage, as far as I know.

I would personally buy an xbox elite at that price, but a heads up for anybody wanting the new slim - 189.99 in store at Asda with certain games (Alan Wake was in there) for an extra tenner. 199.99 for a slim and Alan Wake sounds good to me!

Oh, and I just found this! http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360/Horror/Alone-in-the-Dark/~r328684/?d=1z13fvfZ1z13mmvZ689

1.99 (with delivery!) for Alone in the Dark on the 360. I know its a pretty awful game, but at that price surely its worth it, even for a laugh!

Hmm really considering Alone in the Dark, even if I played it for a couple of hours and then traded it in then it would only cost like 1, which is worth it to improve my terrible gamerscore alone :P

Bionic Commando is currently 6.50 here. Any thoughts on it?

Posted on 20 Jul 2010 16:31:57 BDT
Hey trig, I saw Bionic Commando for 3.99 in HMV yesterday in their sales (does not appear to be online though). I was thinking of giving it a go for that price.
