M. Henshall says:
I am unable to do 20Q as I am unable to read writing on a screen, but in my opinion, the other games by Radica - including draughts - are very easy to play because their screens are well-lit and I can therefore see the shapes moving about on them. I find Radica draughts particularly helpful because there are very good sound-effects and as I said the screen is well-lit and I can therefore see the draughts moving, taking and being taken quite clearly. Unlike in other productions of this game, there is no wrap-around on the screen, so I can easily locate the end of the board, and the game's sound-effects are a great help in this, as they enable me to know where the end of the board is and when the arrow is on a piece. In view of all this, I must say that this manufacturer is one of the best, because they seem to take into account the requirements of someone who has limited sight: they have taken the time to make their games more accessible to such people. I am of the opinion that if they can hear the sound-effects and are aware of what happens in these games, even people with no sight at all could play them. On Radica draughts, I love the fact that there is a tactile engraving of two hands each lying on a draught as if ready to move it and the fact that the player plays with one colour and the game itself plays with the other, so there is no pressure about being obliged to be able to see your colour. I would recommend Radica games (except for the 20Q's) to anyone with partial sight, and to anyone who has light and dark (when something lights up or when a light is on and off) and shadow and outline perception, which are what I have.
