I don't do supplements, but I certainly wouldn't consider buying them from a company that tried to prevent reviewers from posting honest reviews.

Have you looked at the product page?

Talk about shill reviews, blatant.

Sheesh, my Grandfather always used to say 'if you cannot say something good about somebody, do not say anything at all', which I have generally found to be very good advice. But for a company marketing so called 'health' products to try and gag feedback that could be of benefit to their customers, potential or otherwise, is quite simply wrong and should not be allowed.

My response was followed up by a promise to stop including that request in their future emails. They also added that their reviews showed that "the majority of people have had positive experiences from our products."

Err no. The majority of reviewers have posted positive reviews! Spot the difference.

Aye, I see what you say. Methinks they do 5 star too much!

How coincidental is that! Nearly all the 'reviewers' have also reviewed the same leather case for a tablet. What are the chances?

TL007 - you'll only get contacted if - like me - you leave a means for them to contact you by. Viz an email on profile page.

"an email on profile page"

This seems like an open invitation to all the spammers, scammers, trolls and sociopaths to send you all their junk.

I can remember going on a tour of a sorting office and at one point some packets broke open and a load of disgusting rubbish came out. We noticed that these were all addressed in the same shaky handwriting with no stamps, to various offices of government. Clearly there was somebody who spent all their time gathering rubbish, putting it in packages and posting it to any official who had published their address.

This is the kind of person you are inviting if you put an email address on your profile.

You'd be surprised how little true spam I get on that address. I get plenty of requests for reviews which I don't consider spam. In fact I get more bacon from Amazon than spam.

Edit: I'm not entirely dim. I do realise that putting my email on an open page like that has risks. Thus far, the risk has been worth it.

Edit2: Even when my Amazon reviews were being "trolled" by a certain gentleman whose name shall remain unuttered, I had not a single email from said "troll".

Someone has took the bait!

It's okay they'll be fast asleep and happy right now :-)

I see that the supplier was so naive that they assumed only people who had purchased from Amazon could write reviews. They deserve any criticism they get.
