A warning regarding Amazon Lockers

Just wanted to warn others regarding Amazon Lockers (which are an otherwise amazing service by the way), to ensure that the lockers are free from all obstructions before entering the pickup code.

Went to pickup and item yesterday and some oik was hovering/leaning on the locker doors, didn't really think anything of it until I entered my code, heard the beep and nothing - yes, out of all 30 some locker doors the one that had just popped was being leant on by Johnny boy.

Worse, it that the code becomes invalid immediately after it is entered - such an oversight in my opinion and completely unnecessary. Surely this can't be the only situation where a locker door is shut before the item is removed?

It also seems that Amazon custom services on the freephone number, although extremely polite, are unable to open the door remotely. I was first told I could re-use the same code the next day, which didn't work and then told they had 'run out of codes for that locker'. Extremely frustrating to be 30cm away from the item two days in succession only to return home, where it is now being sent to while the parcel stuck in the locker is returned.

I am loathed to leave feedback for individuals as I know that probably goes in some performance review somewhere whereas to my mind this is an oversight in the system.

Here's hoping someone important enough reads this and fixes the issue and in the meantime ensure the locker is free from loitering toerags before entering your code!
