Alcatraz simply because the premise was quite promising and the big questions hadn't been answered by the 'finale'.

Enterprise; although a number of viewers were not that happy with it, I thought it was a really excellent addition to the franchise and had some superb shows. Deserved to run to the full 7 seasons in my opinion.

Stargate Universe; much darker than SG1 or Atlantis, but had some really great acting from the cast. 2 seasons was not enough, there was potential for a lot more.

Jericho.Only 7 episodes in season two and that was it.A great shame for such a well produced series.

More recently BBC4's Dirk Gently - BBC needs more returning dramas in my opinion!

to Mole: I agree with your views of both sci/fi programmes, I liked them too. However, I have been consoled by watching 'Game of Thrones' this is by far the best programme since Soprano's & West wing.

More crass decisions from US broadcasters cutting excellent series prematurely. Pity they don´t really understand the concept of long term rebroadcasts earnings. It´s all out short-term ratings games. Time they developed a new conception of what the term popular and long term actually means mean. They would do well to think about the original Star Trek series made in the 60s. It still continues to be shown around the world. No doubt many excellent series like Sanctuary and Eureka will continue to be watched and re-watched in future years.
