For A.Unwin: 30Rock seasons 1-3

UK region 2 releases, seasons 1-3 do not have subtitles. (Go to Amazon page for 30Rock seasons 1-4 Most recent Customer reviews)
The region 2 issues on Amazon's German (Amazon.de) site do have English subs.
If you can play region 1 discs, then Amazon's American site (Amazon. com) have the first 3 seasons with English subs. and can sometimes be available from Amazon's UK sellers if you don't want the bother of importing. If you want to check, it can help if you add "Region 1" to the title in search. It can be very useful to check Customer Reviews and Customer Discussions for subtitling and other useful info. Hope this helps.
Finally, season 5 also has subs. but are in large capital letters! (See customer reviews for that season).

For Mrs Alison Shutt: Flashpoint Season 2 Region 1

Have checked both sides of the water and cannot find any trace of subtitles for the above. Season 1 Region 2 did have subs in the UK, but not it appears in the USA.
As Season 2 is now showing on cable TV it increases the chance of a Region 2 release in the UK, which may also have subs. Case of wait and see. Season 3 Region 1 is already available on Amazon as an import and this does come with subs. Sorry if this all sounds abit confusing, but that is the wonderful world of subtitles!!

Mrs Alison Shutt: Flashpoint Season 2

Just thought you may be interested but Season 2 DVD release only includes 9 episodes of the original 22; the remaining 13 episodes have been lumped together as Season 3!!!! See the Amazon discussion forums.

Hi there
Dont wish to add more petrol to the flames, but when i looked up Flashpoint on Amazon, in literally all cases, new dvds are cheaper than used.
Look at Three season pack. New is 45.81 and used is 127.00.

Just checked my wish list and lo and behold i noticed that Silent Witness series fifteen is now listed as"currently not available". This is very very weird as it should have been released next week.
I really hope we do not have to wait two years as we have for the Accused!

Hi Ronnie
Acornmedia have the release date for Silent Witness 15 as the 14th June, so it won't be long now.

Hi Ronnie
Have just come across your earlier post on the prices of the 3 Season pack of Flashpoint. This is a marketplace where dealers particularly in North America and the UK offer for sale imported, deleted or otherwise difficult to obtain items (DVDs and CDs) for sale. Like any other market they set the price of their choosing and you, the buyer, can either pay up or walk away . Simple as that! Fortunately some sellers take a more reasonable attitude on prices, but you always get someone trying his luck.

Thanks.
Hopefully we will get subtitles.

H. Tait says:
There are a vast number of deaf and hard of hearing would be buyers
who are frequently disappointed at the lack of subtitles on DVDs'. Frankly I cannot understand why producers ignore the fact that by not doing so,, they are closing the door on so many customers. It's a no win situation all round. I admit that things have slightly improved than say, 10 years ago, but there still remains a great deal of room for improvement. Please wake up to this all producers of DVDs' . Start catering for the vast number of (ignored) potential customers.

P. Mann says:
Agreed. The young executives at Amazon just do not appear to realise that the customer base for DVD's with subtitles is getting larger as the population gets older. Fact of life, as you get older the hearing gets worse. Maybe when these execs have to keep asking people to speak up and repeat what is said then maybe they will get the point!!

Whilst Amazon can be faulted for the lack of information on this their website, it's not them who we should be challenging for subs on any DVD released in this hi-tech world but the companies who release the DVDs be it the latest films, TV programmes current and old. The same applies to the next means of watching Programmes such as Streaming online, I enquired of one and they said they and no immediate plans to subtitle any programmes and didn't even suggest that might change in the future. Pretty grim to tell the truth!

ANother crass decision is the nature series Coast, not one of the DVDs are released with subs, and with another series being started tonight (13/05/2012) you best set the recorders so you have a copy you can return to!

Well - going back to the first post on this forum - some time ago I asked Amazon about this - and somewhere - seek and ye shall find - on Amazon - there is a list of DVDs with Subtitles - I found it hard to get there - navigation is not my best point - but it is there to be seen - I think Amazon supports its customers and is most helpful - if you cannot find it then ask customer service - they are really good

H. Tait says:
Thank you Patricia Enola for the helpful information. I shall certainly try to put it to use in spite of being a pretty poor navigator also.

If you try that link Margaret - the red one - I hope it works - also it is good to scroll down on the page where the DVD is - and look for "further info" it usually says that language and subtitles are available IF they are
