Another great film is 'The Lighthorse Men', telling of the Beersheba Charge and what led up to it.

Does anyone mention The Truman Show - the bit at the end when the boat hits the sky gets me each time (echoes in Taangled) or even better It's a Wonderful Life. Makes me howl every time.

yes harry was a bad man, but the lighting and the music lifted this film out of the Monochrome, and gave it a life of it's own, very good film like you choice Mate....Derek

Cleopatra (1934) Cleopatra (1934) [Region 2] [import] is one of those magnificent films that were no holds barred when it came to making them.

Mrs Skellen says:
Who Dares Wins - deliciously self-indulgent 'British is best' - and shows why Lewis Collins should have been James Bond. But sadly, the only decent film he ever made. Why? Answers on a postage stamp...

J. Martin says:
Goodfellas, White heat and Once Upon a Time in the West. I just seem to be hard wired into having to watch those movies.

Oh and Jackie Brown Not everyone's favourite Tarantino But I think it is unmissable.

Shawshank Redemption, American History X ---- Two of the best "Story Telling" films, similar in style and both utterly gripping!
Airplane, Happy Gilmore, Shaun of the Dead ---- Slapstick comedy gaurenteed to make anyone laugh.
Nightmare on Elm Street, The Omen Collection, Exorcist --- Some of the best horrors ever wrote!
9th Company (Russain film based on a true story about a Russian unit getting trapped in Afghanistan, absolute masterpeice!), Deathnote (Japenese horror/fantasy, very unique), City of God (Brazillian film and true story about a boy growing up the slums of Rio de Janero, harrowing, violent, will make you wince but you won't be able to look away), Das Boot (German U boat film, capures the atmosphere and tensions of a German submarine fleet during WWII. Possibly the most acurate war film ever made) ---- All foriegn films I have loved watching! No hollywood budgets so are all pure acting masterclasses!
