First off - I can't remember if I have ever posted this request before, or just thought about doing it - so apologies if I already have, and you helped me before.

I love a good series of books but I can't seem to get into any at the moment. I'm a bit over vampires and supes (although I loved the Sookie Stackhouse books) and I'm over YA (tried to get into the Remember Me series recently but just think I'm way too old to get with the teens now!). I never really fell in love with the Outlander series (although I do like time slip/time travel). I can't get into the rockstar books and I got bored of the Roy Grace books. I hated 50 Shades and am not really interested in Erotica.

A few years ago, I loved Stephanie Plum and I have recently enjoyed the Rivers of London series (but not generally into Urban Fantasy) and although not exactly a series, I adore Jack Reacher so love those novels.

I would love to read a good series, that is romantic (I do like an Alpha male!) but also carries a good story. I know I am being very demanding, but if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Many thanks in advance!
Emma

Try the Corporate Affair series by D A Latham. Sounds right up your street. I loved it

This may be a completely stupid question, but - do you read classics?

Try Thea Harrison's Elder Races series. Dragon Bound is Book 1

The Vorkosigan series by Bujold. (I always recommend this, because I love it so much.) There are romances through the series, but the books differ.
I'm pretty sure Aaranovitch reviewed the latest one on Amazon.

I've just seen these updates. Thanks so much. I'll have a look at all of your suggestions.

And yes, Anita, I haven't read any classics for a while, but I do like them. Rebecca, all the Austin novels and Last of The Mohicans were my favourites. Not a fan of Thomas Hardy though.

Just thought that you'd never be wrong with Three Musketeers eBook Boxed Set: All Six Thrilling d'Artagnan Novels in One Giant eBook and/or The Count of Monte Cristo (Wordsworth Classics) :)

Try Nora Roberts writing as J D Robb, her .....in death series. They are futuristic, set around 2050, about a feisty police woman, Eve Dallas and the cases she has, but also romantic with Alpha Male Roarke who is an Irish millionaire with a dodgy background. There is also a secondary romance in the series with Eve's colleagues. They are interesting without being too gory and in your face killing description. The first one from memory is Naked in Death, where Eve first meets Roarke and he's a suspect in a murder. Read them in order though.

Nora Roberts is a good author of romantic suspense, she also writes romance and fantasy books as well, but I personally prefer her earlier suspense books like Carolina Moon, Sanctuary, Carnal Innocence etc. She has written several trilogies try her Three Sisters trilogy, it combines romantic suspense with witches and is very good. The Quinn Brothers series is another good one, it's also called the Chesapeake series I think and there are 4 books.
