I'd love to read something based in wartime (1939 - 1945) Great Britain, or perhaps the late 1940's or the Rock & Roll 1950's. I don't believe that Mills & Boon/Harlequin or any of the other publishers have done such a thing. Or have I missed something?

You could try reading early Mills and Boon - which they do re-release from time to time. Sara Seale for example - if you can find hers now. She was writing from 1930s up to 1970s and I seem to recall some of hers were set in war time.

If you want something from an earlier period, try my book THE SECRET WIFE. It's set in 1700, the William and Mary period, and is available on kindle through Amazon.
