Janice Law says:
Try The Blood Bar Chronicles if you are in the mood for more adult characters. Definitely strong women in that one and neatly intertwined stories.

And if you're feeling really brave try the "50 Shades of Grey" trilogy.

If you like a bit of mystery and twists with your romance then Terry Tyler is great. I really enjoyed her first two. I haven't read her latest one yet but am looking forward to doing so as soon as I have time.

.

Seeking the Truth by Lisa Shea. -That one is a medievel mystery romance. The romance scenes are reasonably soft but intense. I liked that a lot.

Prince of the North which is funny
If you want a 19th Century one Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux,

Phantom by SUsan Kay (which is the sequel- sort of and if you can find it)

Lady Chatterley's Lover which is a classic

Jane Eyre
Tess of the Durbevilles

Hi there, if you're in the mood for some high romance and a side helping of derring-do may I humbly suggest Hats Off To Brandenburg (The Roxy Compendium) Released only a few days ago, and the first of many in the Roxy Compendium. You're sure to find fleshed out, lovely characters who live, love and embark on high adventures in a heady version of Regency London. Check it out!

Highly recommend "Don't you remember" by new author Lana Davison, I loved the characters Jen and Johnny, their story's hot and sexy, total escapism. Once I started I couldn't put it down but equally did not want it to end!

For romance with some depth and an edge; and romance that doesn't rely on lots of sex scenes; And if you like a touch of realism try Linda Gillard, Mary Fitzgerald, Terry Tyler and Jan Ruth. Contemporary and intelligent.

I can thoroughly recommend "Losing Arabella" by Claire Blaney, it's her debut novel and I think it has only been out a little while. I bought the ebook for my wife as she likes historical romance, she put it on her kindle and insisted that I read it when she'd finished it, needless to say we both really enjoyed it. It's a good bit of escapism, engaging lead characters, a good sense of humour and a healthy dollop of sex haha!
Give it a go, we'll certainly look out for her next books.....

Kristin Cast & P C Cast for supernatural romance. I have not read them but a friend has. There are about 10 in the series so far. For "normal" romance you could try Santa Montefiore, Kate Furnivall, Katherine Webb, Jojo Moyes & funnily enough "The Haunting" by Alan Titchmarsh which Katie Fforde has described as "the perfect love story."

Personally, I would never recommend a book I have not read... Just saying! I have read 7 of the house of night series and they are okay... Definitely teenager books... So I lost interest at 7! Hooked at first then it tailed off...

Best romance I've read recently was You Don't Have to Say You Love Me amazing book that kept my up at night and hypnotised me until I had finished! It has an excellent story line and some pretty raunchy scenes... That are dealt with a million times better than the shades of grey series... Lol

Enjoy :)

Try Don't You Remember by Lana Davison, a new author. I read this book and I absolutely loved it. I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write one on her book page (5 Stars). Free on Kindle at the moment, so download Don't You Remember. Also available on paperbackDon't You Remember. Happy reading.

It depends which era as well, some of the classics are excellent. Wuthering heights, Tess of the Durbevilles, some of the Jane Austens, Phantom of the Opera (although thats decididly debateable about whether it is romance.)

If you like romance based in Italy, try 'In Vacanza' by Alison Greaves. It's a feel good holiday read. Ideal for lazing on the beach with.
It is her second published novel, the first being '2022' a story based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne ten years in the future.

I might have more sexy, less romantic taste, but
I am reading the sampler of an erotic novel called DESTINED TO PLAY - I obviously have 50 Shades fever!
Its really great so far (reading on the train was interesting) and if you fancy dipping your toe into the world of erotic fiction, I would really recommend it - a fantastic read, pacy, and very sexy!

Here is a little snipped from the blurb:
`It's simple. No sight. No questions. 48 hours.'

An intensely charged erotic journey, perfect for anyone who was seduced by 50 Shades of Grey.

`It's simple. No sight. No questions. 48 hours.'

When 37-year-old psychologist, Alexandra Blake, leaves her comfortable suburban existence to give a series of lectures , she meets up with Dr Jeremy Quinn, the man who opened her eyes and body to the world in ways she never thought possible.

Destined to Play is the first book in the Avalon trilogy exploring the intricate relationships between trust and betrayal, desire and love, risk ... and reward. If you liked 50 Shades of Grey, you will love Destined to Play.

If anyone else reads it, let me know how you get on?Destined to Play
