Red Mosquito says:
I have another theory that if everyone in the UK had heard every album ever recorded and was asked " Which is the greatest album ever recorded". The result would reveal a clear winner. Which album would your fellow citizens vote for and why?

Martin says:
Hmmm....a very interesting thought. Could you please clarify the criteria on which it would be based? Surely it wouldn't just be a matter of personal favourite or taste?

jonthemorsk says:
knowing the great british public it will be:

a) whatever is advertised in the media most heavily
b) whoever wins *insert title of reality tv show here*
c) a combination thereof.

in summary, something bland, predictable, souless, lifeless, disposable and chris moyles' fave.

Not Bedlam by James Blunt then?

MC Zaptone says:
It would undoubtably be either Imagine by JL or Bo'rap by Queen nothing especially wrong with either but ironically the average Joe is bereft of imagination and will go for whatever
all the Sunday paper lists reckon are the best, in case someone thinks they are musically not with it! Oh how we snigger.

In reply to an earlier post on 18 Nov 2008 23:50:15 GMT
Martin says:
Bo'rap is not an album, though - presumably you mean 'Night at the Opera'?

I always maintain that the only thing Joseph Public got right musically is the Beatles, so no doubt 'Pepper' would be in the frame, with possibly 'Revolver', 'Abbey Road' and the 'White Album' close behind. Oh, and there would be bound to be something by the abominable but pollistically ubiquitous Radiohead.

J. Morris says:
They'd vote for some tripe like Definitely/Maybe - Oasis or Sgt Pepper (okay, so Sgt Pepper is clearly vastly superior to D/M, but not really the Beatles' best either). :-(

Martin says:
Quite agree......perhaps an "Oasis - Explain" thread would not go amiss.

Nugent Dirt says:
in a perfect society the clear winner would be 'Michael Ball Sings the Hits of Daniel o' Donnell'

In reply to an earlier post on 19 Nov 2008 17:14:54 GMT
Martin says:
In view of how many hits Mr O'Donnell has had, that would be perfect as it would be totally silent.

Sera
Does he do him in a biblical sense?

Well. If i had to choose sides between Joe Pubic and the smug sniggering elitist music snobs.

I would choose Joe Public.

People who are posting 20+ geeky comments in this forum, day in day out, are in no position to snigger at anybody.

Martin says:
But surely that's what fori are for. Anyway, are you listening MC, Sparky, jones, Fletch et al.
