Our Lez is well worth the moon and the stars. As tomorrow is her big day, I'm sure we're all wishing her the best of luck and looking forward to her being back online keeping us in order when she gets back home.

Good luck Lez!

Yes indeed, all the best Lez. Looking forward to seeing you leaping up the Waverley Steps when both you and they are back to normal.

I missed that bit, being fashionably late last Thursday. Ok then, just late.
All good wishes for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery, Lez. My money's definitely on you being back to normal long before those damn steps. You take care now!

Hang on Wharf, we don't want her speedy recovery to be belated. A bit harsh if I may say so.

Gotta get full value out of NHS, Peter. Oh those meals!

Wharf Rat says:
Pete.....Belated,means that post, was ment when all the other posts were sent and the post I sent on the 22 Jun at 10:33 should have been on the 21 Jan....hence 'Belated'.....

I think you'll find, Wharfy, that Peter knew exactly what you meant. He likes to amuse himself (and us) by wilfully misunderstanding.

Yeah, he's pullin' your tail, Wharfy. Nothing is what it seems to be when you cross that border. Better pack your passport!

Heh, heh, heh

Just tried to phone hospital but can't get answer from ward(28). Probably a busy time.

In reply to an earlier post on 23 Jun 2011 09:35:49 BDT
They're not keen on answering the phone there but finally got through this morning.
Nurse says Lez sitting up and taking notice, generally OK and op went off OK.

Thanks for that Peter. I just heard from Lez's sister, who said that apart from some low blood pressure last night she's fine and the procedure went smoothly.

With you and Lez both being thick................................

.........( where was I? got distracted) as theives, any plans to see her?
As she's out of action for 6 weeks maybe we should descend on her gaff with Vimto in one hand and a quiche in the other.

Ward clerkess got nurse when i phoned who came on and said "your wife is fdoing fine". I th hope they didn't give lez heart failure by telling her her husband was on the phone.

Haven't made any plans, Peter. Depends on her rate of recovery I suppose.

I dropped in on Lez this evening, sat and blethered for about 40 minutes. The operation went well and she should be up and walking pretty soon. I passed on everyone's good wishes and mentioned Peter's plan to descend on Polmont which didn't faze her at all. Her sister should be around tomorrow and she's staying up for a while. The staff were and are really friendly and kind and she really couldn't be in better hands. Now the pre op nerves are over she's managing to catch up on her sleep.

Thanks, China, good to know it went well.

High guys - anyone that speaks to Lez soon, please pass on my best wishes - sounds as if it's gone well.
