What about the couple of dozen other live Giant albums, RP - have you heard any? There are considerably better ones than 'Fool'.

I have to admit I am in the dark here. No, I have not heard any, except for a 'live in Rome 1974' which is great musically but of bootleg sound quality. Hit me.

Amon Duul II Live in London. Reckon the 1st side (remember them) is good old krautrock whereas the 2nd side is prog-or is it?

'ang on a mo!! What evidence do have to support the statement that good vinyl was used. Might have been a duff batch of recycled stuff thus rendering the -perhaps - best live album ever recorded to sound rubbish

I've consulted the experts and no it certainly is not! Incidently et did ya catch the Pink Fairies soundtracking a MOTD Euro collage, complete with pithy comment from Gary Lineker?

I wish I had but unfortunately no. It's funny how things pop up. I remember a couple of years ago watching some american series (Madmen?) and the background music was an obscure Fall track from their second album. Was the Fairies track 'Do it' by any chance? Can't imagine it being 'I wish I was a girl'.

Easytiger: It should've been Uncle Harry's Last Freakout, but I somehow doubt that.
Best live album? We've not had Zappa in New York yet, so I'll pitch that one in.

Ha! It would've been if Redknap hadn't got his UB40 instead!

Yes....Uncle Gary's Last Freak Out would have been nice, but it was indeed 'Do It' (from start to finish!).

Thought I'd posted here but I can't find it unless it's on the wrong thread. Anyway, I'd pick Two From The Show by Kansas along with Seconds Out, Bursting Out and Yessongs. Biggest disappointment was Encore by Argent.

Goos job as well. 'Do it' at 3mins plus is right length for England's success in europe. Even if they ever won it UHLFO would be too long. An England fan by the way.

Anyone interested in contemporary 'Prog' could try a band called Wax Fang they have released a very interesting album called 'La la land', It is interestig because I don' t think the band are trying to 'sound' or 'be' Prog in any way. The music sounds like it just came out that way. Big guitar album, kinda sound like a modern day Pink Floyd at times, in a different space though.
