Nugent Dirt says:
Tasteless maybe but I recall as news article today about some poor s*d dying from Anthrax which led me to thinking about the band.. after a respectful time lag. So what other bands, singers, tunes, album titles with a medical bent i.e. conditions, diseases, equipment, people etc? The more contrived the better. For starters..
Teenage lobotomy - Ramones
Jennifer Thrush (warbler who looked liked Miss Jones off 'Rising Damp' with camp power ballad The Power of Lurve)
Nurse with Wound (experimental, avant garde crew)
Rat Scabies (Damned drummer)

you need some "pills, thrills and bellyaches" from the "drugstore woman" who lives with "dr feelgood" in an "emergency".
.But The "bitterest pill (iever had to swallow)came from the "rock n roll doctor" who gave me "heroin" instead ,or maybe it was "lithium".anyway i soon got the "ventilator blues"
when i made a "recovery" it wasn't long before i got the "cat scratch fever".had to see "doctor doctor" againfor the "medicine bow" which made me "sick as a dog" and had "rot gut".i soon put on my "medicine head" and went to see "sister morphine" "down at the doctors" who told me "you shouldn't call the doctor(if you cant afford the bills)"

er....I left my heart in San Fran...Tom Waits did one about a bad liver and a broken heart........Lemonjelly's Experiment no 6 is really creepy with a medical voice over...Dr Feelgood
Dr John
Dr Who theme as done by er..Bill Baileys french version or the dub version by Dub Syndicate....various psychiatric conditions get mentioned from time to time...there probably a dance artist called Prozac...Joe Jackson did a cheerful little show stopper Eveything Gives you Cancer...Tom Waits to conclude with we're all gonna be just 'Dirt in the Ground'
cheerful thread this

The British death metal band Carcass uses medical terms rather extensively in their music.

There's a bonus track on an Incubus album (I think 'Enjoy..) featuring a medical examiner's commentary as he's performing an autopsy. A little twisted but there we are...

Be seeing you.

N. Craddock says:
"Unfinished Sweet," Alice Cooper, glorious tooth extraction sfx at the end. Pink Floyd, "Animals," 'Dogs,'
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you
get older.
And in the end you'll pack up and fly down south,
Hide your head in the sand,
Just another sad old man,
All alone and dying of cancer.

Cheers me up every time ... lol

I think "Doctor" tracks should be banned from the thread as they are too numerous to mention and a standard blues hook.

Oh! "Entangled," Genesis, lyrics of a patient in hospital - ending with "You catch your breath, and the nurse will present you the bill." The most painful part .. !!!
