Patti Smith Banga Far too good to be relegated to its place on the shelves, just yet.

Blastronaut says:
D'ya have a sorta 'premiere shelf' for yer best CDs JBee? Just wondering cos I do, and a 'div 1 shelf' for the CDs that just fall short of the highest standard, and then other racks and shelves dotted around the Blast-Cave for stuff that're just good-average.

Now listening to...

Rancid - ' Indestructable '

Indestructable, irreplaceable, indesputably brilliant!!!

I have just heard that The Rolling Stones are going to play 2 shows in the O2 in London this November..................

Blastronaut says:
Ok, now listening to... yep, you guessed it...

Rancid - ' Let The Dominoes Fall '

Hated this on release and tho I still reckon it's one of their weaker efforts, I'm slowly coming around to it. Took around three years of perseverance tho!

In reply to an earlier post on 31 Aug 2012 16:52:37 BDT
Woohoo!! I guessed that!!!!

Only kidding..........

Keeping well, Blastro?

Back at Brass Towers, the missus races empty-handed for the door just so's she can make a comment on the waiting cd-sized packets ..... why? Of those, first up are;

Tattoo - Rory Gallagher, another stunning 2012 remaster, excellent stuff
Last Of A Dyin' Breed - Lynyrd Skynyrd, didn't want to pay for the fan-pack nor wait till mid Sept so I got this from wowhd (£9.34 with 15% off today), pretty good, not classic RVZ good but similar style to and better than the last Black Stone Cherry album for instance.

Hello Smitty. Not too bad, bud; still in a bit of a muddle, recovering from a kinda 48hr substance bender on Tues and Weds. I see I wuz putting up the odd post over that duration and am amazed I could see the keyboard, n'mind type anything! Seems to take an age to get over such shananigans these days; am getting waaay too old for such wreckless behaviour.

Thanks for asking anyways, how's yerself?

Spacepig says:

I am horrified, insulted, demoralised, downright jealous :-(

Spacepig says:
Sure Blastro, what country you got in mind? They ought to have a healthy supply in the good 'ol US of A, maybe we should have a go at their stash?

Spare Time Machine - Pepe Deluxe, more mind-bending psych-rock collages but with no samples. Their latest Queen Of The Wave is still available for less than £2 plus p&p.

A Shadowplay For Yesterdays

See now, just every now and again, everyone needs a bit of mindless OTT silliness. So, this lot would like to be demonic and nasty and evil and all that. But to tell the truth, they are about as scary as the Woodentops.

Still, when the brain is frazzled after a week of toil, this one is a good way to refresh the parts that others cannot reach. And it does have one stunner of a picture on the front of the CD. Look closely at it.

Moved on to A & R Studios : New York, 26th August, 1971 by The Allmans.

Just riight for this time of night and - with the benefit of a litre (or so) of some quite excellent 2009 vintage Marqués de Caranó Gran Reserva - I might even drift back into Live Dead next by way of a night-cap.

☺ ♫ ☺ ♫ ☺

p.s. - is it just me or does anyone else think that it's been Saturday today ?

If it's just me - I need to go out and start selling washing machines in Comet (or something of the sort) in order not to,lose track of where I am and what I'm supposed to be doing.

One problem that I have encountered since retiring is that the local recycling centre is chock-a-block full of retired beggars sorting theit lives out and getting rid of their rubbish !!!

A couple of oldies from Golden Smog: Weird Tales and Down By The Old Mainstream. For the most part, joyful county rock.
