This is a question aimed primarily at the Christian posters on her, but if anyone else can also help that would be appreciated.
I'm looking for a decent Old Testament study Bible. I'm looking for something that is not as heavy as big Bible commentaries such as New Jerome Commentary(which is great, but very heavy going) yet not as superficial as Bible summaries (such as the New Jerome Bible Handbook etc.)
I have a copy of the Ignatius New Testament Study Bible and it is excellent, but there is not a corresponding Ignatius Study Bible for the Old Testament.
I'm looking for something that I can refer to before I do a reading in Church, in order to prepare my reading better through focusing my reading to reflect the meaning of the scripture I'm reading.
Ideally I'm looking for a Catholic Study Bible, but a recommendation for a good study Bible based on any mainstream Bible would still be appreciated.
