Spin says:
Because all you guys care about is proving you are right. You have no care or concern for the reality you advocate by your ideology or by your battles with each other. You value thought more than practical reality. As long as you can prove to yourself that you can counter alternate views, who cares about the welfare of your children, and thiers? Why bother trying to work out a solution among ourselves as long as we can vent our frustrations and anger upon strangers on an insignificant website? Everyone here advocates "peace" but rarely does anyone display thier commitment to it...

Withnail says:
I'm guessing you were tired and emotional when you wrote this. For the record your claim is wrong. I have never claimed to know what is best for peace in the world, therefore the word every is an exaggeration.

Because no-one ever listens to me.

Nah... Hot air has substance.

Given your idea of bringing about peace was more rioting, Spin, you'll pardon me if I don't take you terribly seriously here.

Mr B Tonks says:
It's just as well we are all strangers to one another Spin never to meet,
If we all did meet up in a hotel for a murder mystery weekend and had to nominate somebody to be sacrificed as the victim - no prizes for guessing who that would be!

Posted on 16 Jul 2012 20:55:12 BDT
Well that may be difficult - thinking a 'CSI: Multiple Homicide' murder mystery would be required ? lol

I'm liking the sound of this ... I'll be back after I've made a few calls ;)

Well done spin, I think you have pretty much alienated yourself from everyone that posts here regularly, its a shame because I do think you are very intelligent and sometimes make very good posts but your narcissitic desire to constantly argue everything has made you even less popular than founty and perhaps now doomed for the ignore button.

I hope you can change tact and be honest in your future posts but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

Or, indeed, anywhere.

Has spin spun his last post on these threads?

Withnail: I could have folowed the current trend and set up a thread accusing specific posters, but I do not agree with such practices so I prefer to relate the problem in general terms. The guilty know who they are.

Its an internet forum.... Seriously now, what do you expect?

Drew Jones says:
Actually if you have a problem with specific people the polite and correct thing to do would be to make sure you address your complaints to those they concern rather than making scattergunning general complaints and employing the word "overyone" which traditionally suggests that it's not a specific group you are focusing on but "everyone". That way people know where they stand, innocent people aren't involved and people can evaluate your claims. Clearly the guilty party you have in mind don't know who they are.

Not that you actually have a specific point in mind, you're looking to stir things up with anyone who'll bite and specifics don't work as well as generalities in that regard.

RAB says:
"So people log on to a Religion forum to delete posts they disagree with"

Pray tell how I can delete other peoples' posts? Because while I'm the sort of guy who would disagree with my own post and then delete it for the sheer hell of it, I'm not sure many others are.

Spin says:
Popcorn: This is a "Discussion" forum so I, and others, expect the respect and understanding extended by civilised persons to others. I expect the recognition that the freedom to express ones views extends to everyone. At the very least, I expect a genuine attempt to refute an argument or proposition instead of an attempt at one-up-manship. One cannot convince another person of the faults of his argument by merely calling him names, deriding his lifestyle or dismissing his argument.

This is a discussion forum on the internet. All you have any right to expect is differring views.

Spin says:
Drew: You are not understanding the point: you are advocating that which I object to. This thread was opened for those who are victims of such juvenile behaviour to have a say. Bt, as usual, it attracts those who are the cause of the problem. Your post, in its words and argument, is an illustration of the mentality I am opposing.

RAB says:
Oh, so only people who have been wronged on here are allowed to post? And people like Drew and myself aren't? So much for freedom of speech.
