Irish Central, 27th January 2013

"One of Ireland's leading sexual disease experts has claimed priests, judges and politicians are romping with prostitutes on a regular basis. Urologist Dr Derek Freedman even made the claim to members of the Irish parliament during a discussion on sexually transmitted infections. The Irish Sun newspaper reports on the claims by Dr Freedman that passionate Irish priests are `getting their frocks off' with prostitutes."

Better hookers than children, I suppose: at least they're putting money back into the local economy.

J. Forbes says:
Well, WDB, it is not uncommon for both judges and politicians to rail against "immorality", and I am sure that it is those people to whom Mr Seed was referring.

Of course, it is possible that none of the "rompers" have ever condemned this sort of thing, but human nature being what it is, I fear that some will have done.

I have little doubt about it myself, though the heading for the thread clearly indicates a bias.

I also marvel at the ability to believe anything an 'expert' says, just because he says it. Discernment is needed.

On the other hand, living in Ireland makes me certain that most politicians here are corrupt (right the way to the top, else how did so many bankers and property developers get away with screwing the country). Judges could well be just as corrupt (or incompetent, a judge recently allowed a self-confessed child molester, backdated 40 years, off virtually scot free, until a public outcry made him change his mind). On top of that there are the accusations of paedophilia that the Catholic Church has to deal with.

Power corrupts and all that.

"you're a bit of an expert on hookers"

Not as much as you, I'm guessing...
