I used to support Israel as a nation but not now .There actions in Gaza are terrible i think that the USA and the UK should withdraw all support.

I don't think the term 'Nazi' is appropriate Mr West, though I can see how you might be tempted into such extremes.

Apart from that I agree entirely about the USA and the UK; this is unacceptably disproportionate.

What bogeyman did lazy people invoke to make their point before the Nazis?

I used the term Nazi after thinking about this, this is how it all started in Nazi Germany.Kill people, innocence or not.

Mr. David W. West says:

I used the term Nazi after thinking about this, this is how it all started in Nazi Germany.Kill people innocence or not.'

And do you think that this is what is uniquely characteristic of Nazism as opposed to say Maoism, Stalinism, The Khmer Rouge, Terrorism etc.?

In reply to an earlier post on 7 Aug 2014 20:51:41 BDT
No, but this is happening now,and this is what matters.

In reply to an earlier post on 7 Aug 2014 21:14:20 BDT
Nobody is denying that it is happening - or for that matter that it is morally unacceptable. What is being questioned is the appropriateness of the term 'Nazi.'

I never knew there were so many fans of Nazi comparisons.

I don't think we are dealing with lots of people integrated by a single attitude, but a single person completely lacking integrity.

Lazy use of the word "Nazi" detracts from the serious situation on Gaza / Israel and the war crimes by both sides,

Just wondering from where and why

The Nazi's tried eradicate the Jews,so what are the Isralies doing in Gaza?

Again David, that is just a silly comment.

Israel has a right to defend it's self (and note that it's Hamas that has decided not to extend the current ceasefire) and whilst I would agree that the current response is disproportionate and does not take sufficient action to prevent civilian deaths, no sensible commentator believes that they are trying to exterminate the Palestinian people.

We're looking at around 16-17 positive votes. That's very big. If you credit 3-4 people actually using their real/individual vote to support the view you're still left with explaining a dozen votes.

Usual 'voteboting' is around 4-6 votes. Each needs an account and I can't see many bothering to create more than this as it is timeconsuming and about 4-6 votes is all it takes to subvert the usual voting patterns or get a trolling post unhidden.

Therefore I can't shake the idea that this is a couple of people with multiple accounts. Maybe one happened to fortuitously spot the other and joined in at the same time just to make people who over-think these things think that a bigger conspiracy is now on or maybe it was premeditated collusion, a couple of vote manipulators/other forum agreeing to prick the pomposity of the religion forum by massively upvoting a new contributor.

I can understand why some would get a schendefrade-like kick out of disrupting this forum, thinking it's a valid way of letting us know that we shouldn't take things so seriously. Some people admitting to this have suggested their actions are righteous justice and they are voting up the underdogs and the sort of unpopular views on here that are regularly voted down. What I don't understand is how they don't see that when doing such things above in such an indiscriminatory fashion they can be often showing inadvertent support for homophobia, ignorance or (as with this thread) lazy commentary on serious current events which somewhat tarnishes the shining armour and light heartedness they picture.

Can't help but feel the return of 'Jack' is not a coincidence.

What about the person calling themselves "Paul Davidson" on the Eric Clapton thread?

In reply to an earlier post on 8 Aug 2014 09:21:43 BDT
Drew Jones says:
That's the fella who was piggybacking off MBen's notoriety and originally called themselves MBE of Tooting.

In reply to an earlier post on 8 Aug 2014 09:39:16 BDT
No. It has all the signs of Jack. He didn't seem to have anything worth saying but threw a tantrum whenever it was pointed out. He was also obsessed with who said what rather than what was said, was very paranoid and overly concerned about the voting.

In reply to an earlier post on 8 Aug 2014 09:41:38 BDT
It's not MBE of Tooting's style at all. He is just a (rather amusing) jester. But I don't think he is sneaky and vindictive. Read his reviews if you want a sense of his surreal humour at its best. The outraged responses are even funnier.

I was just answering Withnail's question about the Eric Clapton thread. That guy is MBE of Tooting. Who David West is is up for debate.

In reply to an earlier post on 8 Aug 2014 09:49:24 BDT
Yes. I meant he wasn't the multiple voter.

Bearman says:
Looking at those reviews suggests that this is a recently created account. There's only two of them, both created in the last couple of days. One review sounds normal, the other (for Guardians of the Galaxy) clearly is a complete fabrication. I suspect that someone created the account specifically for use on the forums, and only added the reviews quickly to give the persona some authenticity.

Oh, no I wasn't suggesting he did this although if he has a few accounts to troll with then I wouldn't put it past him adding his numbers to Jack's votes so as to push the numbers up to make the thing look more ridiculous. If he'll intercept Paul and MBen's name to say stupid things then why not silently vote in a silly fashion and watch Jack get the blame!
