Is it me or are the english posters being influenced by the myrhs they spend thier time arguing against others? A sudden "niceness" on the part of thos who spend thier time condemning others. But then, one must be nice approaching xmas or one will not get a pressie fron santa. The world stops at the Western capitalist religious day-off. (And you think religion has nothing to do with your thinking, HA!)

Stand at your local supermarket near Xmas Eve and you'll quickly see how comically little Xmas has to do with religion, so far as most are concerned.

And we all know how the music channels devote so much air time to carols and hymns, how every child is dreaming how much they can give to others on Xmas day, and how every Mum simply can't wait to do Xmas dinner and tolerate her more irritating relatives.

Your smugness, as ever, is misplaced.

Ryan: I am not "smug" I am "right", as your reponse to my post indicates (oh dear, did I start a conversation?)

Truth hurts. By the way, how does myrh influence people?

Spin says:
Ryan: "Yruth hirts"? So if you accept that facr, why oppose those trying to rectify it? I get in a hell of a lot of trouble for being truthful. but I would rather be truthful than self-intersted. A friend is not a person who agrees with you all the time.....

Many adjectives describe your posts. Truthful has never been one of them, even when they refrain from drifting into casual anti-semitism and bilious anti-gay slogans.

Spin says:
Ryan: You are last person I would require a definition of "truth" from. Sorry. You are a person who is always right even when you are wrong. Enjoy it while you can...=)

Can we just leave religion out of Christmas?

Sorry Spin, but you were 'wrong', 'naive', and, above all, 'sentimental'. Since your account of Xmas contrives to shut out reality, it is worthless.

Ryan to Spin: how does myrh influence people?

Not so much influences but to be frank incenses people! :-)

Cyrus Shroff, hi

greetings, surely you can organise christmas to your liking with or without religion. What if your wish were granted, then others jumped on the wagon with, smoke free, drink free, meat free christmases, can you see where this would lead too, christmas would be reduced to a non event. best to leave things as they are........and each to their own

Touché. That was a perfectly executed gag.

Cyrus: I disagree. We should leave Xmas out of religion. A subtle distinction, but an important one, I think.

Many years ago a jewish friend told me the real reason Jews do not eat pork. Since then I have never eaten it, as the reason seems to ring true if one knows the taste and texture of pork. I cannot verify the reason or its truth, and shall never willingly do so...But the thought that it might be true has extinguished my taste for pork..(And I suggst if you want to know the reason, research it yourself. I do not want to be responsible for putting people off certain foods).

C. A. Small says:
Spin you are correct- if you are posting what I think you are!

It is almost impossible to differentiate between pork and human flesh.

Be nice to animals become veggie. 31 years so far and far happier for it.

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Dec 2011 23:07:59 GMT
Spin says:
CA: Yes. Pork has the same flavour and texture as human flesh. I cannot verify that, and I hope I never have to.
