And yet nobody bothered to let the world know about this miracle. I am happy to accept your story if you are happy with the following. If you get a brain tumour don't waste your time with stupid old western medicine, just stay at home and wait for the miracle

O.Binladen says:
Do you ever accept the premise, or are you even capable of accepting the premise, that no god of any type exists? All appeals to open mindedness disappear if you answered no.

Paradoxically asking me to try and validate the premise that a deity exists, by just presupposing the statement to be true, is farcical, only empirical evidence would convince me. That's not bias, and I am open minded, it just always has produced the same result, as theists the world over have yet to produce any empirical evidence for their chosen version of their chosen god.

>>>Why not give it a 2 week trial. **Suspend what you think is reality**

You really need to re-read that, as I'm pretty sure you didn't intend to so neatly disprove your own polemic.

O.Binladen says:
Rest easy, I have a house, and a car, and neither was acquired by praying to a fictional deity, rather unsurprisingly. In fact if I thought it would work, I'd hardly pray for anything so mundane. how about a cure for Cancer, or AIDS, in fact why not pray to eradicate all suffering, disease, and ignorance. I guess it never occurs to the faithful to pray for such things, or else god wants them to continue.

If I have it is entirely due to you not explaining your point sufficiently. Oh well.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about one of my favourite black and white films: The Awful Truth [DVD] (1937) [2003]. (Sorry for being irrelevant).

It does tend to close down the conversation much in the same way as searches for the Loch Ness Monster. People stop looking because there is nothing to look for.

evidence has been sought, none has been found, until there is evidence there is no need for further searching.

Essentially you are asking me to keep on searching until I see what you claim to see and to ignore the fact that there is no evidence for what you claim.

In 2000 years of Christianity and 6000 years of Judaism not one jot of evidence has been produced despite the churches devoting great time and energy to prove the existence of a god (in fact their embarrassment is covered up by dogma about the need for faith).

So when you or your god bothering friends have something to share then I will be happy to look at it and weigh it against all the prevailing evidence for their being no god and then make a decision.

What a fool I will look when it happens eh?
