once you accept there is a difference between "know" and "believe" you will start to be less of a pain

Jim Guest says:
The pain comes from the knee-jerk reaction to the word 'believe'. One can believe that the Tories will recover the economy. One can believe that the 49 bus will be on time. One can believe that Villa will win the League. Only one of these faiths is a religious one.

In the words of Michael Winner....

'Almost nothing in Roman Catholicism involves a dogma that cannot be ascertained by reason alone.'

Get medical advice. Soon.

'Trinity... completely consistent with reason.'

Be grateful that your doctor can count.

Tom;"Let's start with un-intelligence perhaps" - lets, you are the expert.

"The few things that are revealed dogmas , like the Trinity are again completely consistent with reason"- no they are not, they are inconsistent with reason.

You really should try reading *anything* that is not based on catholic assertions, and more intelligent than them, try "the Beano2, it is far better, more true to reality, and funnier. Also no-body has to be nailed to a tree, which is always a better start to a story.

Very good.

But with Catholicism, the body has to be kept on the tree. Or else, there's no reason to be Catholic.

Jim"Or else, there's no reason to be Catholic"

there IS NO reason to be a catholic. Unless you are a man who likes wearing dresses, and has a penchant for young boys.

Jim Guest says:
Let's be fair. Not all Catholics dress up, and presumably Catholic mothers are as lovely and as loving as any. But the Vatican's agents dispense the acceptance of deity in weekly instalments, and you mustn't miss. That's why they keep a man on a cross.
