Sam Shaw says:
Yeah, I am unavoidably writing from a point of view which I believe in, that the church needs to sort out it's reasoning for preventing gay marriage in its institution. Whether or not people are made or are born gay is, as is evidenced by the rest of the discussion, a circular argument and one that I don't fancy wading into. However, I would say that if people are indeed born gay this doesn't prevent them from turning to God. I tried to make it clear that "turning towards God" is deemed to be a fairly desirable position for the church, in that it is against the deliberate turning away from God, and clearly not that it is the desired position for everyone. I suppose I'm separating sexual acts from superimposed sexual identities, people shouldn't be defined nor define themselves by their sexuality.

Garbled response, apologies.

Obviously! Where any such twins included in any of these studies that you quote?

Maria,

If you're talking about identical twins where one is male and one female, then technically they're not identical because one is xy and one is xx. But there are rare instances where this is the only genetic difference between mixed-sex 'identical' twins.

If that wasn't what you were talking about, then just ignore all of that. :-)

Gonna get to that point yet, Tom?

No, I am not confusing fraternal and identical twins. I have just checked my information. It is believed to be rare but it does happen.

Unfortunately, Diane, you're one of the people who displays the greatest ignorance, especially if you consider Tom to be knowledgeable. What's that biblical quote about a plank and your own eye?

"As usual those without courage follow behind the ones who shout the loudest, and who carry the biggest stick."

As you've here followed behind Tom? Hmmm...

DB,

Grown ups talking. Come back later.

When Tom does me the courtesy of answering my question, I'll answer his. Until then, you can stick your bigotry and hypocrisy where the sun does not shine.

Tom,

It isn't your place to impose your own repugnance on others by discriminating against them. What others do in their own consensual sex lives is none of your business.

It's also irrelevant to the issue of same-sex marriage.

Drew Jones says:
OK, well runing through the options you meant to say most men are comfortable or indifferent to the sexual attraction of other men, got it! You might want to proof read through things to make sure they convey your exact intentions rather than complaining they weren't to be read as they are written. Did you learn nothing from the Bible's mistake?

Or you meant exactly what was said but don't like the counter point I gave so you pretend I got something wrong to save you having to rescue your position.

Maria says:
I read that it has been discovered recently that identical twins are not always of the same sex as previously thought. Therefore as the studies were probably done before this discovery there must be lots of identical twins who were not part of the study. Making the results less accurate, surely.

Sam.. I know reading and thinking aren't your strong points but if consenting adults want to 'exercise their sexuality' as grandchilden nurtured to be sex partners for their grandparents ... using plastic of course.!! ... your argument provides no ground for your unwarranted bigoted and irrational , hate-filled opposition.

Of course.. you can show me where your logic leads elsewhere.

Sometimes Sam, when the holes in your reasoning are revealed , its just best to tone down the mindless rhetoric you repeat from your broadcaster thinkers.

Sometimes rational criticisms are just that. Having no basis for respecting reason probably helps you in your incoherence here as elsewhere , but for those of us for a reason to trust reason, we must follow it or choose to be less than human.

And the emperor IS he emperor of course. We do want to be afraid of the emperor don't we? How about Henry VIII He WAS an emperor after all.

Let's repeat the question.

Would you like to bet whether or not you will still be here by the Autumn, Tom - yes, or no.

Tom M says:
Actually Ryan

All you have to do is show that identical twin studies don't show what I claim they show, that the authors of the Denmark registry study are false, that any of the patterns and causal implications are false..

In short anything to show you hold any of your opinions honestly.

You can always get back to sneering later. Promise.

It will stil be there for you.
