This tragic story of a great man that was pivotal in defeating nazism was in the news today, the posthumous pardon is largely symbolic of course. Now I don't want to generalise, but some theists still think it's acceptable to discriminate against gay men and women. So I think the best tribute we can give to a hero like Turing who helped give us the rights and freedoms we have today, is to eradicate such discrimination from our society completely.

"This seems to make no sense. "

Nice to know you're not addressing the vile injustice done to Turing, the father of modern computing, and reached for the soapbox instead.

I strongly recommend a visit to Bletchley Park to anyone who hasn't been already. Lovely area, and so fascinating.

At the time I went they'd just finished the film Enigma - about the codebreakers at Bletchley - so props and memorabilia from the film were on display.

It might make a nice venue for some marriages. A symbolic gesture he might have appreciated, if only 20th century morals, that he did so much to advance by defeating nazism, had repaid the debt it owed him, and all other gay men and women.

You're a bigot, and I am disinclined to discuss this further with someone who is so spiteful and bigoted that they can't live their lives unless they are trying to spitefully hurt others who are both their intellectual and moral superior. Hang your head in shame you bigot.

it's sad, theists talk of the love in their lives, but when it comes right down to it they are filled with contempt, and hate for others who are different from them. Once again Tom, hang your head in shame.

Not at all, your behaviour in this thread is utterly repulsive to me, and I'd die before I'd accept such bigotry.

That's bigotry, pure and simple, you're trying to conflate the most odious egregious predatory sex criminals with decent moral law abiding people, who have consensual sex with other adults.

HANG YOUR BIGOTED HEAD IN SHAME!
